"I Heard the Bellson Christmas Day" is the new Sinatra Single that may easily take it all this season.

Not in recent memory have you heard a Sinatra performance so eloquently suffused with warmth and grace and holiday sentiment.

To describe it,you maywish you hadn't wasted so many adjectives, these past years, on record offerings far less meaningful...far less deserving.

The record (or taped dub) was not for sale except to those few who had already received it. By Thursday, Nov. 12, there was so much pressure on to release the single for everyone that the big company was frantically phoning London for an okay on an early release. On this same day, Thursday, KQV in Pittsburgh obtained a copy which they immediately aired and then sent down their telephone line for their sister station in New York, WABC. On Friday, Nov. 13, Capitol informed the multitude of djs who had been calling them for five days that they now had single copies of "I Feel Fine" and "She's A Woman," and they were sending them out by air mail that same day. But that wasn't fast enough for some of the stations. Clint Churchill, owner of KYA in San Francisco, had Bill Keffury, his program director, fly down to pick up his copy personally. To make certain their sister station in Oakland, KEWB, had a copy before KYA could get theirs on the air, Don Anti, KFWB's music librarian, picked up a copy and headed for the airport and San Francisco. RECORD WORLD-November 28, 1964 27 BY ED HAMILTON Bradley's Barn is now officially open! And believe me, no place has ever been opened in a more swinging way! Bradley's Barn is Owen Bradley's new recording studios on the outskirts of Mu- sic City and it's exactly what the name implies ... a big, beauti- ful barn! From the outside it looks like a large cow barn, which Owen says it is... or was. Once inside, you find yourself in a big recording studio completely equipped with the latest and finest in recording equipment, a studio larger than anything in the Nashville area! But back to that opening held Sunday night, Nov. 15. Pete Fountain, who has been doing most of his recording recently here, rode out with Owen one day to look the new studios overASCAP AWARDS, NOV. 6: from left, Charlie and insisted that this was the place to really throw a swingingTobias, ASCAP writer, N.Y., and Mrs. Tobias; Paul Evans, writer, party and he would be happy to bring his band up from NewN.Y.; Irving Caesar, writer, N.Y.; Juanita Jones, ASCAP rep, Orleans for the occasion.
