In September, 1949, Miss Mary Susan Robertson became a member of the Reidsville High School faculty and adviser to the Senior Dramatics

Department. The students soon knew her as a personal friend and com- panion as well as a teacher. To Miss Robertson, who has been an inspiration to all her students, we, the Senior Class, proudly dedicate the 1951 Renocahi.

A PAUSE

The past is made of memories Of days once lived, now dead.

Tomorrow is made of dreams and hopes

With wider paths to tread.

We've reached the door that stands between The future and the past.

And yet we pause within its arch

For one look back—the last.

We whisper then a silent prayer Of thanks to Him who led; And then, with heads held high with hope, We turn and walk ahead. —"Pat'' Lufty

Dear Students:

We Seniors would like for you, our fellow students, to know just a little more about us. In order to let you know all the facts about our wonderful class, we have taken a census, and this is what we found: We, the Seniors of 1951, are a very large group when we are added into one big body. Our weight is 12,788 pounds. We wear a very large shoe, which is a size 876; and we stand at a height of 662 feet and 5 inches. Our hair is 53% brown, 30% blond, WA black, and 4% red, not to mention the peroxide that is in part of the hair. Our eyes are 43% blue, 35% brown, 16% hazel, and 6% grey.

If anyone ever wants to find us, he may find us at home listening to the radio or reading our favorite magazines, "Life" and "Seventeen." We are very fond of eating. While we are at home, we listen to our favorite songs, "Mona Lisa," "Safronia B," and "Moving On." Doris Day, Perry Como, and Bing Crosby are our favor- ite singers. Whenever we pick up the morning paper, we look for the fun- nies and the sports page. Our favorite

pet around the house is man's best friend, the dog.

Our favorite pastime is dating and

dancing. Our favorite "peeve" is waiting for someone. When dating we may go to see a movie if June

Allvson or Randolph Scott is playing in a picture that we think we will like. After the movie, we ride out to "Short Sugar's" in a Mercury or Ford to chat with other classmates.

We attend all of the football games

because that is our favorite sport. At

half-time, we sit and talk to our many friends, or we walk by the concession stand to buy a Coke, Hershey Bar, or Mound.

We hope that vou will like Miss Conley, Mr. Holmes, and Miss Jane Barker and Keith Handy Wootton, our Senior Class teachers, Mascots and all the rest of the faculty as well as we did. We are human, just like the rest of you, so we think that our Mothers and Fathers are the ideal men and women of today. On Sundav morning all of us get up early and go to church. We are 43% Baptist, 30% Methodist, 11% Christian, 9% Presbyterian, and 7% other denominations. You have now been properly introduced to the Senior Class of 1951. We are justified, we think, in being just a little proud of ourselves. We leave our record with you, hoping it will serve as an inspiration to you in the future.

Sincerely, THE SENIORS OF 1951 Tommy Sue Palmer, Statistician

Page Ninety-two WHAT MAKES

A CHAMPION

ATHLETE?

IS IT CONDITIONING. . . coaching . . . teamwork . . . physique . . . sportsmanship . . . competitive spirit ... or just plain honest-to-goodness athletic skill?

We don't pretend to be athletic experts, because our job is to manufacture high quality textile

products. But as sporting fans we think it would be safe to say that an athletic champion is the result

of all these fine qualities.

We know that it has taken a combination of great leadership, manufacturing know-how, careful planning, employee loyalty, and skilled teamwork to make Burlington Mills a champion in the textile industry. The Company's many accomplishments and progressive growth during the past 27 years are well known. We are proud of this record and equally proud of our 32,000 employees who have worked together with real team spirit as members of the Burlington team.

It's a fact that Burlington's fine fabrics, hosiery and other textile products are truly "Woyen Into

the Life of America" — just as every Burlington plant is woven into the life of its own community.
