15. SWOC Analysis (strength, weaknesses, Opportunity and Challenges) The institution is situated in the heart of the city and is easily accessible from all directions to the local and also the commuting students. It has a vast campus of about 13 acres and 2 very elegant 50 year old buildings to which many more additions have been made from time to time. The college has a very dynamic and energetic person with a vast experience of public and administrative life as its principal and leader. Under his able guidance and motivating inspiration, the college has undergone a great makeover. It has achieved such milestones since 2008 which otherwise would have taken much more The faculty of the college is well qualified, extensively experienced, motivated and dedicated to its work. It is bound by a kinship not seen everywhere and displays excellent teamwork. It also forms a strong bond with the students. The college has an active and supportive Janbhagidari samiti. A great share in infrastructure development is borne by it. The college has good academic ambience. It has a disciplined environment which is ragging free. A recently installed surveillance system of CCTV has helped us to curb outside disturbances. The college has been entrusted with a mighty responsibility of conducting about 90 % examinations of the district. It is Centre for the examinations conducted by the University for the Programmes viz. BBA, BCA, LLB, LLM, PGDCA, B.Ed., M.Ed., M.Sc. (IT/CS) running in other colleges of the district. The examinees for regular courses of all the other colleges except one also appear in this centre. Besides it is a district coordinator for most examinations conducted by Professional Examination Board of M.P. such as PEPT, PAT, PCRT, Forest guard, Office Assistants etc. It also serves as a centre for examinations conducted by Staff Selection Commission, Public Service Commission, State Bank of India and much more. The institute has always discharged such duties very successfully every time. The progress might have been better if we are not hampered by the following: 1. The location being an asset is also a liability. The college has a unique distinction of being surrounded by public road around its entire periphery. Also its campus is fractured into three locations about 1 km apart from each other. The academic campus is just outside railway station and is on a state highway, making it unable to have a noise free environment especially during festivals and political and other rallies. 2. The load of biggest coeducational college and also the lead college of the district has to be borne by an officiating principal and 50 % teaching and nonteaching staff in the permanent positions. 3. A majority of our students are not equipped for higher education being handicapped by poor communication skills, lack of motivation, financial constraints; no stimulating environmental back home and being clueless about future plans. Almost all of them have Hindi as the medium of instruction in the school. Their command over English is very poor. His is the raw material the staff has to work upon from the scratch and get results. 4. The emergency category of conducting the examinations throughout the year even on Sundays drains our human resources which would otherwise have been channelized onto other creative and productive activities. But we are optimistic because we have great opportunities: 1. The impetus provided by the government policy to increase the gross Enrolment Ratio to 30 % by 2020 certainty provides us an opportunity to serve a greater population of the deprived section of the society. The “Let Us Go to College” Campaign was an effort in that direction. 2. A very effective and cooperative Jabbhagidari samiti provides great institute by keeping the machinery well oiled. 3. The increasing awareness of the public certainly provides us motivation to guide them properly and contribute in their upliftment.

We enthusiastically look forward to our challenges: 1. To remain adhered to a good standard of quality education is no easy task. We however are committed to maintain our standard. 2. A majority of the students are from weaker socioeconomic sections of the society. It is a great challenge to equip them for future competition at the state and national level. Strength: 1. Very experienced, dedicated and talented staff 2. Spacious, clean and easily accessible campus 3. Support of Janbhagidari Samiti Weakness: 1. Out of 63 sanctioned posts of AP & P 20 are lying vacant for more than 2 years 2. No regular Principal 3. Out of sanctioned posts of Non-gazetted Technical/Non-Technical Staff are lying vacant for more than a year Opportunities: 1. Online Admissions, IFMIS, RUSA, World Bank Challenges: 1. Small town hurdles, to overcome unprofessional and easy going altitude of support staff
