The Maheshwar lies in the North bank of Narmada river valley and well known Ancient town of Mahismati region. It had been capital of Maratha State. The fort was built by Great Maratha Queen Rajmata Ahilya Devi Holkar and her named in 1767 AD. Rani Ahliya Devi was a prolific builder and patron of Hindu Temple, monuments, Palaces in Maheshwar and Indore and throughout the Indian territory pilgrimages. Ahliya Devi Holkar ruled on the Indore State of Malwa Region, and changed the capital to Maheshwar in Narmada river bank. The study indicates that the Narmada river flows from East to west in a straight course through / lineament zone. The Fort had been constructed on the right bank (North Wards) of River. Geologically, the region is occupied by Basaltic Deccan lava flow rocks of multiple layers, belonging to Cretaceous in age. In the Name of Krishna: the Cultural Landscape of a North Indian Pilgrimage Town
In the Name of Krishna: The Cultural Landscape of a North Indian Pilgrimage Town A DISSERTATION SUBMITTED TO THE FACULTY OF THE GRADUATE SCHOOL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA BY Sugata Ray IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY Frederick M. Asher, Advisor April 2012 © Sugata Ray 2012 Acknowledgements They say writing a dissertation is a lonely and arduous task. But, I am fortunate to have found friends, colleagues, and mentors who have inspired me to make this laborious task far from arduous. It was Frederick M. Asher, my advisor, who inspired me to turn to places where art historians do not usually venture. The temple city of Khajuraho is not just the exquisite 11th-century temples at the site. Rather, the 11th-century temples are part of a larger visuality that extends to contemporary civic monuments in the city center, Rick suggested in the first class that I took with him. I learnt to move across time and space. To understand modern Vrindavan, one would have to look at its Mughal past; to understand temple architecture, one would have to look for rebellions in the colonial archive. Catherine B. Asher gave me the gift of the Mughal world – a world that I only barely knew before I met her. Today, I speak of the Islamicate world of colonial Vrindavan. Cathy walked me through Mughal mosques, tombs, and gardens on many cold wintry days in Minneapolis and on a hot summer day in Sasaram, Bihar. The Islamicate Krishna in my dissertation thus came into being. -

© 2018 IJEDR | Volume 6, Issue 1 | ISSN: 2321-9939 Traffic Impact of BRTS- A case study of Indore BRTS 1Aditya kushwah, 2Akshat Man Gupta, 3Yogesh Rajput 1B.tech student, 2B.tech student, 3Associate professor 1Department of civil engineering, 1SRM institute of technology and science, Delhi NCR campus, India ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Abstract— The BRTS was constructed on one of the busiest routes of the city. This paper analyzes the traffic impact of Indore BRTS on mixed vehicle lane of some intersection which suffered with heavy traffic congestion before the implementation of the BRTS. For the evaluation of the BRTS various traffic surveys were carried out at selected intersections along the BRTS corridor which includes traffic volume study, Volume capacity analysis, congestion index study, intersection saturation study, queue length study. The analysis reveals that the implementation of BRTS reduced the running width of the MV lane which directly affected the traffic flow along the route. Index Terms— Bus rapid transit system (BRTS), evaluation of BRTS, Traffic impact, MV lane, performance analysis. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I.
