Air Traffic Data from 10 to 19 August, 2007

There will be 210,000 passengers at NIA between 10 and 19 August during the week of Ferragosto (the Assumption) Paris, London, Prague, Budapest and the Mediterranean are the top destinations for the Summer of 2007

From Friday, 10 August, to Sunday, 19 August, during the week of the Assumption, Naples Airport forecasts call for nearly 210,000 passengers: 85,000 on national flights and 125,000 on international flights. The heaviest traffic is expected to be Friday, 10 August, with nearly 27,000 passengers.

The most popular destinations for Summer 2007 include European capitals such as Paris, London, Prague and Budapest , Spain (Barcelona and Madrid for scheduled flights and Ibiza and Palma for both scheduled and charter flights) and charter flights for the Mediterranean: Greece (Crete and Rhodes), the Red Sea (Sharm el Sheik) and Tunisia (Monastir) .

During the month of July, recorded traffic was 603,000 passengers which represents an increment of 12% over the figures recorded last year . For the first time, over 600,000 passengers were recorded in one month. International traffic figures are excellent with over 305,000 passengers of which 228,000 on scheduled flights.

This summer, there was a significant increase in the Naples Airport international network*: currently, there are 37 international destinations as opposed to only 29 last year.

Between January and July, 2007, there were 3,290,000 passengers (a 12% increase over the same period last year), of which 1,300,000 were on international flights.
