Biography of Amir Khusro – Amir Khusro is the legendary Artist of , His contribution to the Indian Classical Music is very precious and important. Throughout this session students will get to know the same.

Raag Aasawari – Raag Aasawari is one of the Thata –Raag of Indian Classical Music. Throughout this session students will get to know the same.

Dhrupad, Dhamar, Tarana – All these singing patterns are popularly sung in Indian Classical Music. One of these called ‘Dhrupad’ is oldest and basic singing pattern. All the three singing patterns will be explained in this term to students.

Tala – Tilwada & Dhamar – These Talas are popularly known in Indian Classical Music. Some basic Talas are studied in previous terms.

Music Appreciation – Various types of career can be had in the field of music. Amongst them the most important is the critical analysis of a performance. A guest lecturer will explain how to do critical analysis of a performance.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Music spreads the language of heart, touches the soul and enlightens the spirit within and it is inherent in every human being music always supports you in some way or other – It you are happy you enjoy the beats and if you are sad you enjoy the lyrics. It gives you the inner strength to perform better in your day to day life. The objectives of this course is to nurture and propagate the priceless heritage of Indian classical music, music enhance the level of concentration, heals stress. Music is a tool of meditation. Music is a performing art, it gives you confidence of expressing your thought, creative ideas, and satisfaction of pleasing your audience. The man that has no music in himself nor is moved with the concords of sweet sound is fit for treason, stratagems and spoils.
