“The “ 25/85” vision will put Purdue among only 5-10 Division 1 Universities who achieve both athletic and academic excellence each year. With 351 Division 1 programs, the 25/85 members are at the 98th percentile- a high performance bar but one we will continue to strive to achieve. In 2013-14, we were 48/82 which will put us at about the 86th percentile. So we still have a gap to close and we believe with all of us working together we can join this prestigious club who value the true intercollegiate model.”

29 In memory of Tom Reiter

“Tom was an inspiration to everyone associated with the Boilermakers. He was a confidant for our student-athletes, coaches and staff, and was always ready to offer a kind word or share his keen sense of humor. Our memories of him will fuel us moving forward.”

MORGAN BURKE Director of Purdue Intercollegiate Athletics

“Coach Reiter was a lot more than a great coach and administrator. He was an unbelievably well-rounded person. He was very intelligent in a lot of areas, but at the same time, he could relate to everyone he talked to. You always felt when you talked with him as a colleague, mentor or coach that he had your best interests at heart.”

MATT PAINTER Men’s Basketball Head Coach

“Tom was both insightful and honest--learned from year of coaching to be both mentor and whip at the same time. He spent time with you as an individual, face-to-face. He knew when to whisper in your ear, pat you on the back or simply pick you in the pants. Invaluable as a leader, he provided direction in the toughest times and was the first to congratulate you on a job well done. He will always remain in both heart and mind!”
