Eddy of St. Erth topped the trade at 219p/kg and 218p/kg both being bought by Chris Dale for his Butcher Shop. Top value came at £1,445 for a grand 821kg Limousin x steer from Messrs. W.A. Williams & Son of Allet, Truro. Leading heifer at 213p/kg and £1,206 was a 566kg Limousin x for Messrs. G.W. & H.E. Hawkey of St. Wenn purchased by Trevarthens of Roskrow.

Another good entry contained a higher proportion of well-fleshed cows but many non-Farm Assured. Nevertheless, demand was strong and averages up on last week. A super entry of young cows for Messrs. R.J. & S.J. Gabriel of Launceston saw a Charolais x realising an incredible 166p/kg to Roger Eddy of Tehidy with a South Devon selling at 140p/kg to David Ellis of Lelant. Leading the dairy section this week was an Ayrshire x cow from Chapel Farm () Ltd selling at 109p/kg and £860 to Dawn West Devon of Hatherleigh.

Top price of day the came at £1,000 for a pair of 15 month old pure bred Charolais steers for Diddy Farms of St. Stephen. Another super entry of young cattle this week Messrs. C.R. & I.E. White of Helston saw a pair of Limousin x steers at just 10 months realise £950 with same age Limousin & Charolais x heifer pairs to £760 and £750. A strong pair of 15mo Aberdeen Angus heifers from Mr. C.P. Rundle of Par sold well at £795.

Trade met a sharp seasonal drop at the beginning of the week nationally, but fortunately prices had stabilised on Wednesday; whilst trading at lower levels on the week. Improved demand for the heavier weights, selling to a top price of £102.50 for a heavyweight Suffolk lamb from Messrs. G.C. & V.D. Mitchell & Son of Duloe purchased by J.V. Richards Ltd of Perranwell Station. Also breaking the £100 barrier were a good trio of 53kg lambs from Mr. T. Gregory of which sold at £100.50 to Messrs. K. & D. McFadden Butchers of St. Just. Setting the premium to 233p/kg were a trio of shapely 40kg Texels from Mr. J.D. Couch of bought by J.V. Richards Ltd.
