By Jamie Cushman STAFF WRITER [email protected] CLOVIS — Curry County will not submit a Community Development Block Grant application this year, the Curry County Commission unani- mously decided on Tuesday. The commission previously approved the paving of Curry Road 11 between Curry Road N and State Road 311 as the county’s CDBG application this year. But Curry County Administrative Services Coordinator Doria Rey said cost estimates for the project came in nearly triple what the county was expecting. CDBG grants provide up to $750,000 with a 10 percent match from the county, while estimates for the three-mile paving project came in between $1.3 million and $1.6 million. “I don’t think it’s really feasible in Staff photo: Kevin Wilson any way,” Commissioner Robert Trudy Deeley of Clovis places her vote in the ballot counter Tuesday morning at the Youth Recreation Building.
