POST-GAME NOTES & QUOTES

Los Angeles Kings (5-9-1) vs. (9-4-2) – Nov. 8, 2018

Kings 1-0-0=1 Wild 1-1-1=3

KINGS HEAD COACH WILLIE DESJARDINS: (RE: TEAMS EFFORT): “I think they are a pretty good team. I know the last time we played them, we did not get much in their net. They have a stingy defense. Saying that, I think we definitely passed up some chances to shoot. There were some shots there, if we put it to the net, maybe we could have gotten some traffic and some rebounds, but we had our chances to win tonight and did not capitalize on our power plays.”

KINGS FORWARD TYLER TOFFOLI: (RE: TEAMS PROGRESS): “I think we had some good opportunities and obviously we came up short which is definitely frustrating, but I mean we definitely did some good things out there and just need to find a way to score.”

KINGS FORWARD ANZE KOPITAR: (RE: OFFENSE): “I don’t think we played enough obviously in their zone. Maybe they came out a little slower in the first period and then played better as the game progressed. I thought we played a decent game, but we need to capitalize on the chances and these special teams are always a part of winning games and we lost that battle tonight.”

WILD HEAD COACH BRUCE BOUDREAU: (RE: TONIGHT’S PERFORMANCE): “I thought the last 50 minutes were really good. I thought the first ten minutes we were scrambling, letting them play and we were watching them. The last 50 minutes were really good; we weren’t as lively, but once we got the , then all of a sudden, everything picked up for us. The Los Angeles Kings play really hard. I’ve played them as much as anybody here. They were playing hard again tonight, but I thought we weathered a few storms and played well ourselves.

WILD FORWARD : (RE: NINO NIEDERREITER’S FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON): “It was great. We were all happy for him. The team, the bench—we’ve all been there. Every scorer has been there; it’s a tough time. I’m happy for him that he got it over with and he can move on. I thought he played a good game outside of the goal. We were getting some chances so hopefully he’ll keep that going.”

WILD DEVAN DUBNYK: (RE: TONIGHT’S PERFORMANCE): “I think we started pretty good. I didn’t help us any by letting in that and that was kind of when they [the Los Angeles Kings] started to come. I’d like to keep those ones out so after that, it’s important for me to work and make sure we keep it there. They get a power play and reward me with a big goal.”
