4 West Virginia Update The WV Branch held its second annual statewide symposium for families on October 12-13 at Flatwoods, WV thanks in large part to a generous grant from Highmark West Virginia . Presented By Sunday, May 4, 2014 By Ron Fingers Participating on Team JDRF for the Pittsburgh Marathon …a day of education on type 1 diabetes (either full, half or relay) is a very rewarding experience . Not for every age and every stage only does it help raise money and awareness to help improve the lives for people with T1D, but as a participant it also provides extra motivation and inspiration to be out there Carnegie Science Center with other runners running for the same cause . Wearing the November 16, 2013 JDRF shirt, I have heard many spectators cheer on Team JDRF during the event . Support like that goes a long way 8:00 am – 3:00 pm when you need the extra push . One of my favorite moments of the 2012 marathon (aside from the finish line), was when a fellow runner approached me before the start and told me he has T1D, running the full marathon, and thanked me for the support .
