No. 46. BY THE GOVERNOR. A PROCLAMATION. WrNSTER, Governor. In exercise of the powers vested in me by section 17 of the Village Authorities Laws, 1931 to (No. 2) 1937, and otherwise, I, Reginald Thomas Herbert, Baron Winster of Witherslack, Privy Counsellor, Governor and Commander­in­Chief in and over the Colony of Cyprus, do hereby order and proclaim that from and after the 15th day of February, 1948:— 1. The boundary of the Town of shall be as set forth in Schedule A hereof. 2. The Town of Nicosia comprised within the boundary aforesaid shall be divided into the quarters set forth in Schedule Β hereof. 3. The Proclamation made by His Excellency the Governor dated the 5th October, 1943, and published under Notification No. 351 in Supplement No. 3 to Gazette No. 3076 of the 7th October, 1943, as amended by subsequent Proclamations, shall be revoked.

SCHEDULE A. Boundary of the Town of Nicosia. The boundary commences on the south­western side of the main road from Nicosia to where it is crossed by the road from the tannery near the Golf Course to the village of Trakhonas, and proceeds north­eastwards along the western side of the latter road to a point due west of the north­western corner of plot No. 15 of Block A, Trakhonas village ; thence eastwards along the northern boundary of the said plot to its north­eastern corner on the main road from the village of Trakhonas to Nicosia ; thence south­eastwards for a distance of 100 feet approxi­ mately along the said road to the north­western corner of plot No. 16 of Block A, Trakhonas village ; thence eastwards and southwards along the northern and eastern boundaries of the said plot and the northern boundary of plot No. 17 of the said Block to the north­eastern corner of the said plot; thence southwards, eastwards and southwards following the boundaries of and including plots Nos. 17, 19, 21, 27 and 40 to the point where the northern side of the by­pass cuts the eastern boundary of plot No. 40 of the Ibrahim Pasha Quarter, Block A of the Government Survey Plan No. XXI.38.2.IV ; thence eastwards along the northern side of the said by­pass to the south­western corner of plot No. 102 of Block B, Omorphita village, of the Government Survey Plan No. NXI.38.3.IV,

thence eastwards along the boundaries of but excluding plots Nos. 88 and 148 of the said Block to the south­eastern corner of the last mentioned plot, which corner is on the western side of a road ; thence northwards along the said road to a point where a new road branches off; thence eastwards along the northern side of the said road to the eastern side of the road leading from Nicosia to the village of Omorphita; thence south­ westwards along the eastern side of the said road to the most northern point of plot No. 76 of the said Block and plan ; thence southwards and eastwards along the boundaries of and including plots Nos. 76, 71,70 and 69 of the said Block and plan, plot No. 68 of the said Block of the Govern­ ment Survey Plan No. XXI.39.4.1 to the eastern side of the road leading from the village of Palouriotissa to the village of Omorphita; thence southwards along the said side of the road to the point where the southern side of the railway line crosses the said road ; thence south­ eastwards along the eastern side of the said road to the cross­roads at the most northern point of plot No. 40 of Block A, Palouriotissa village ; SCHEDULE B. Quarters of the Town of Nicosia. 1. The quarters Arab Ahmed Pasha, Mahmout Pasha, Ak Kavouk, Ayios Loukas, Abdi Chavoush, Yeni Jami, Iplik Bazari and Korkout Effendi, Ayia Sophia, Haidar Pasha, Ayios Kassianos, Khrysaliniotissa, Taht-el-Kale, Ayios Ioannis. Omerieh, Ayios Savvas, Phaneromeni, Tabak Khane, Nebet Khane, Kara-man Zade, Ayios Andreas, Trypioti, 36 Ayios Antonios and Ayii Omoloyitadhes comprising respectively the properties which at the date of the commencement of this Proclamation are recorded in the books of the Land Registry Office as the properties comprised within the quarters aforesaid. 2. The Ibrahim Pasha quarter comprising :— (a) the properties which at the date of the commencement of this Proclamation are recorded in the books of the Land Registry Office as the properties comprised within the quarter aforesaid; and (b) the properties within the following boundary hitherto forming part of the village area of Omorphita, that is to say :— The boundary commences at the point where the northern side of the by-pass cuts the eastern boundary of plot No. 40 of Ibrahim Pasha Quarter, Block A of the Government Survey Plan No. XXI.38.2.IV and proceeds eastwards along the northern side of the said by-pass to the south'-western corner of plot No. 102 of Block B, Omorphita village, of the Government Survey Plan No. XXI.38.3.IV, which corner is on the eastern side of the road leading from the Government Railway Stores to the new Turkish cemetery ; thence south• wards along the said road to the south-western corner of plot No. 88 of Block B, Omorphita village, of the Government Survey plan No. XXI.38.6.II; thence eastwards along the boundaries of but excluding plots Nos. 88 and 148 of the said Block to the south-eastern corner of the last mentioned plot, which corner is on the western side of a road ; thence north• wards along the said road to a point where a new road branches off; thence eastwards along the northern side of the said road to the eastern side of the road leading from Nicosia to the village of Omorphita ; thence south-westwards along the eastern side of the said road to the most northern point of plot No. 76 of the said Block and plan ; thence southwards and eastwards along the boundaries of and including plots Nos. 76, 71, 70 and 69 of the said Block and plan, plot No. 68 of the said Block of the Government Survey Plan No. XXI. 39.4.1 to the eastern side of the road leading from the village of Palouriotissa to the village of Omorjohita ; thence south• wards along the said side of the road to the point where the southern side of the railway line crosses the said road ; thence south-westwards along the said side of the said railway to the north-western corner of plot No. 36 of Ibrahim Pasha Quarter, Block No. 28 of the Government Survey Plan No. XXI.38.6.IV, which point is on the south-eastern side of the road leading from Nicosiato the village of Omorphita ; thence north-east• wards along the said road to its junction with another road which passes along the northern boundary of plot No. 240 of Ibrahim Pasha Quarter, Block A of the said plan ; thence westwards along the said road to the south-western corner of plot No. 317 Block B, Omorphita village, of the Government Survey Plan No. XXI.38.6.I; thence northwards along the boundaries of and including plots Nos. 317, 314 and 14 of the said Block and plan, plots Nos. 13 and 122 of the said Block of the Government Survey Plan No. XXI.38.3.III to the point of commencement, all which said area is hatched in violet on the Government Survey Plan Serial No. 1384.
