Bayton C of E Primary School, where our mission is

BE THE BEST THAT YOU CAN BE!

At the end of term the staff, children and families of Bayton C of E Primary School were sad to say goodbye to our much loved Reception Class Teaching Assistant, Mrs Farr. Mrs Farr had worked at Bayton for over thirteen years and was hanging up her Teaching Assistant hat to retire from a career that spanned over 40 years. During the past three years she has been found in the library each morning, teaching Read Write Inc to our younger children, wearing green Freddie frog slippers and incentivising children with Freddie Friday treats. Mrs Farr put so much energy and enthusiasm into teaching this literacy scheme giving our children a strong foundation to enable them to continue their literacy journey through Key Stage 1.

To mark the occasion of her retirement, children across the school wrote letters, poems and recorded their memories which were put together to make a book detailing her time in school. A tea party was given whereby students past and present together with their families and our staff came to say goodbye. Mrs Farr has been replaced by Mrs Bristow, whose own children have attended Bayton.

At the end of this term we also said a fond farewell to Miss Grady who is a PGCE student and has spent the past eight weeks working with our Reception children. Miss Grady will be returning to Bayton in the summer term for her final placement. We will soon be welcoming other PGCE students from Worcester and Birmingham universities and we are also lucky enough to have Teaching Assistants on work placement from both Ludlow and Kidderminster colleges. Having extra help in school is always a bonus and we have been lucky with the high standard of students we have had in school. Indeed our very own Mr Langdon (year 2 teacher) made such an impact during his PGCE placements in school that he is now in his second year of employment here.

It has been brought to our attention that families living in Shropshire wishing to apply for a place at our school for next September have been unable to find our details - School Admissions has corrected this. For further details about our school, contact the office on 01299 832393. Alternatively, visit our website at www.baytonpri.worcs.sch.uk
