Introduction This document contains information on previous releases of Pointsec Mobile Palm OS (5.4) and Pointsec for Palm OS. The information included here is based on the release notes for each release. For information on earlier releases than those mentioned here, please contact your Check Point representative. Note that as of the 2.3 release, Pointsec for Palm OS is named Pointsec Mobile Palm OS (5.4). Releases prior to 2.3 retain the name Pointsec for Palm OS. This document contains the following sections: • “Product Version Tracking” on page 2, containing information on the changes and corrections made and the devices supported in each release. • “Device Tracking” on page 10, which lists each device and the release or releases that support it.

Product Version Tracking This section includes information on changes and corrections made in the previous releases of Pointsec for Symbian OS (S60 3rd Ed.) and Pointsec Mobile Palm OS (5.4) and a list of the devices supported in each release.

Version 2.3.1

Changes and Corrections in this Release

New in the 2.3.1 Release In this release, this has been changed or added: • Setting added: A new installation set setting, Max number of characters in ordered sequence, has been added in this release. This setting allows administrators to configure the maximum number of consecutive characters in an ordered sequence in the password. • Setting removed: The HotSync password setting has been removed from the installation set settings.

Version 2.3

New in the 2.3 Release In the 2.3 release, this has been changed or added:

New company name Pointsec Mobile Technologies AB has been purchased by Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. This product and documentation set reflects this brand change. For more details about the purchase, see www.pointsec.com.

New product names The product and documentation have been updated with the following new product name:

New 3rd-party products supported Pointsec Mobile is now interoperable with the following third-party products: • Microsoft Vista • mFormation Device Management

Silent Uninstall A new setting, Silent Uninstall, has been added to the Pointsec Mobile installation set settings. This setting is used in conjunction with device management software to enable the administrator to initiate an automatic removal of Pointsec Mobile from devices without having to carry out a challenge/response procedure.

New Installation Package When you create the installation set, Pointsec Mobile creates an installation package (PointsecInstaller.prc) that consolidates the files necessary to install Pointsec Mobile on the device. This reduces the number of files that must be transferred to the device to carry out an installation.

Setting Removed HotSync password has been removed from the installation set settings.

Version 2.2.2

Changes and Corrections in 2.2.2

New functionality: In this release, these functions have been added: • When configuring Pointsec for Palm OS, you can now choose either to shuffle PIN or PicturePIN icons for increased security when the user is prompted to authenticate, or to keep the icons stationary. • It is now possible to access the Contacts list even when the device is locked. (Note that the Good Mobile Messaging Contacts list is not accessible when the device is locked. • The naming convention for the recovery file has been simplified. • To enhance usability, the setting Type user selectable now appears before the setting Type in the Pointsec Administration Console. If Type user selectable is set to Yes, then the Type setting is grayed out and can be skipped when configuring Pointsec for Palm OS. • Support for the following devices not previously supported: • Treo 680 • Treo 700p • Tungsten E2 • Improved interoperability: Pointsec for Palm OS is now interoperable with the following third-party products: • Good Mobile Messaging 4.9 • Intellisync Mobile Suite 7.0 Pointsec for Palm OS now supports • Pointsec Administration Console 1.2 • Pointsec Media Encryption 2.4

Fixed Issues: The following issues have been fixed in this release:

New functionality: In this release, these functions have been added: • New device supported: LifeDrive • Improved support for OneBridge 5.0 • Clock, network signal and battery information are now shown on Treo devices in Pointsec for Palm OS's PicturePIN dialog • Device ID is now displayed on the info screen • The recovery file name now contains device ID.

Supported Devices in 2.2.1 In the 2.2.1 release, the following devices were supported. • Treo 600 (Note: Pointsec for Palm OS does not allow access to old PIM databases on supported devices, except for Treo 600. Devices running Palm OS 5.4 or later have both new and old databases, and access is only allowed to the new ones.) • Treo 650 • Tungsten T5 (Note: The Tungsten T5 and LifeDrive devices have an internal VFS drive, which in this release will not be encrypted.) • LifeDrive

New functionality: In this release, these functions have been added: • Internal memory encryption • Tungsten T5 support • Enhanced authentication support: new Picture/PIN/password options in Pointsec Administration Console plug-in • Ability to use phone without authenticating to Pointsec • Independent Pointsec timer.

Version 2.0.4

Changes and Corrections in 2.0.4

New functionality: In this release, these functions have been added: • It is now possible to upgrade Pointsec for Palm OS from version 2.0.3 • Update profiles are now supported • OneBridge interoperability added • New function “Pointsec state API” added, to enable other applications to see whether Pointsec for Palm OS is locked or not. For instance, this means that other applications can wait until Pointsec is unlocked before accessing encrypted files and databases.

Changes and Corrections in 2.0.3

New functionality: In this release, these functions have been added: • Pointsec Administration Console is now used for carrying out administrative tasks such as creating installation sets and providing Remote Help • New devices are now supported: Treo 600 and Treo 650 • The keyboard can now be used to enter information when using Pointsec for Palm OS.

Fixed Issues: The following issues have been fixed in this release:
