In a future dystopian New York City, Nick Sax is a very unhappy, very de- pressed, very drunk, very ex-cop, some- what suicidal hit man currently spend- ing his Christmas eve drinking himself slaphappy in a bar. He’s called away from puking up blood in the toilet to meet his messenger boy who gives him his next hit job. With a bellyful of vodka and God knows what else, Sax hits the streets. Meanwhile, there’s a holiday celebra- tion happening in the heart of the city, and it’s attracted an army of children and their harried parents. Mr. Sunshine is the main attraction, and he’s giving out gifts to underpriv- ileged and disabled kids. Hailey is a little girl who came to see Mr. Sunshine perform. But she and her mom got there so late, they were both pushed to the back of the crowd. She slips away from her mom to get a better look, but ends up in an off-limits area where a pervy Santa Claus is eyeing her while taking a leak. Hailey’s imaginary friend Happy — a furry, blue unicorn/horse — warns her she better get the heck out of there before... and then it happens. Pervy pissing Santa Claus snatches her up, and sticks her in crate in a storage facility. Sax arrives at his first hit: a man in a lobster suit receiving fellatio from a hooker. Lobster man’s about to smash the hooker’s brains out with a hammer when Sax busts in and blows him yet another orifice. Meanwhile, the local mafia boys of the Scaramucci family are getting together to put a hit on Sax. Disco Mike is the baby of the family. He just got back into town after being in Sicily rubbing elbows with the Don. Apparently the head honcho gave baby Mikey something important before he kicked it — a password. But no time for that now. The Scaramucci boys bust into the lobster’s den, and shoot the place up, thinking they’re turning Sax into Swiss cheese. Of course, the man they shot up was not Sax but the lobster man. Sax brings up the rears and lays three out of the four Scaramucci brothers low. It was a

3 Happy! Episode Guide set up. Disco Mike tries to offer Sax, in exchange for his life, the password that the Don uttered to him before he died. It’s priceless. Sax isn’t having it, and shoots the kid, and the kid falls out a window. Of course, Mikey doesn’t give up that easily. So Sax has to go down to the street to finish the job. Before Mikey kicks the bucket, he confesses something: the world is run by devils that look like people. Some Illuminati sh*t right there. Ah, well, Sax doesn’t make it out either. He throws a heart attack, and keels over. He’s picked up by the cops, thrown into an ambulance, and resuscitated by some EMTs. And remember Happy? He flew all the way from where Santa’s been keeping Hailey to get Sax’s attention. Happy needs Sax to rescue Hailey. Unfortunately, Sax thinks he’s hallucinating (who wouldn’t) and dismisses Happy’s plea for help, takes another handful of nappy time pills, and is rushed straight to Mass General Hospital. Detective Meredith McCarthy is one of the officers who picked Sax up after his heart attack. She knew him during his NYPD days. She learns from the prostitute who helped Sax that Sax knows about the password. If Sax knows about the password, that means that all of NYC’s underworld is going to be after him — and she wants in. She calls up her mafia hookup to tell him what she knows. When he finds out Sax might have the password, he gets a little bent out of shape, and orders a hit on Sax. Meredith shows up at Sax’s hospital room. She wants him to hand over the password to protect him from whatever retribution is coming, and also get a jump on the crime civil war brewing in her city. Sax doesn’t budge. So Meredith leaves; and Sax passes out — but not before being visted again by Happy who keeps urging Sax to get a move on to go get Hailey. Shortly later, a torture artist named Smoothie and his goons arrive to get that password out of Sax. Before they can shave his penis into little sausage slices (Smoothie’s words) Happy gives Sax a pep talk and poops and apple. Yep, an apple. Annoyed by it all or perhaps Happy’s pep talk worked–either way, Sax very handily breaks free of his restraints, and goes full-metal jacket on his torturers. It’s a vision to behold. After making a daring escape from the hospital, Sax steals a car and gets the hell out of dodge. Happy trails along too. It’s in the car that Happy tells Sax Hailey isn’t just any girl trapped in a pervert Santa’s crate... she’s his daughter trapped in a pervert Santa’s crate. Sax is shocked. That’s when he’s hit by an oncoming truck. It’s a lot.

What Smiles Are For

Season 1 Episode Number: 2 Season Episode: 2

Originally aired: Wednesday December 13, 2017 Writer: Patrick Macmanus Director: Brian Taylor Show Stars: Christopher Meloni (Nick Sax), Ritchie Coster (Francisco Scaramucci), Lili Mirojnick (Det. Meredith McCarthy), Medina Senghore (Amanda Hansen), Patrick Fischler (Smoothie), Patton Oswalt (Happy) Guest Stars: Joseph D. Reitman (Very Bad Santa), Bryce Lorenzo (Hailey Hansen), Michael Maize (Le Dic), Ren Colley (Kenji), Laura Poe (Jessica Mc- Carthy), Jerry Springer (Himself), Bonnie Milligan (Evie), Caleb Eber- hardt (J.D.), John Lichtwalt (Redneck Dad), Paco Tolson (Sonny Shine Security Guard), Celia Howard (Mrs. Jablonski), Marc Basil (Lead Gangster), Katie Beth Hall (Brooke), Quentin Morales (Cal), Victor Lamantia (Mousy), Brady Adair (Insurance Agent), Benny Elledge (Jabba the Hebrew), James Collins Jr. (Pencil Dick), Chazz Menendez (Gangster 2), Ashley Paige Albert (Little Voice) Summary: In search of guns and money to escape New York, Saks crashes a high stakes poker game. Happy tries to convince Saks that he’s a father. Sak’s exes team up in an attempt to locate Hailey.

Last we saw Nick Sax, he was getting jackknifed by a sixteen wheeler. Now he’s on Jerry Springer. That’s right, the show. He’s moving up in the world. Actually, his cameo is just a near-death quasi- hallucination that examines Sax’s com- plicated feelings towards being told by a miniature flying horse that he has a daughter trapped in a creepy Santa’s storage container. It could happen to any- one. After running from the wreckage of the accident, Nick finally accepts Happy as something between real and kind of real, but definitely not a figment of his imagination. Mean- while, Hailey learns that she’s not alone in Santa’s workshop — there are other kids Creepy St. Nick’s taken captive there too. He wants them all to stay young and innocent forever. Probably because he wasn’t able to — as demonstrated by the fact that he’s an old geezer keeping kids trapped in... you get the point. When Nick returns to his apartment, he finds others have already broken in there looking to surprise him. These guys were once in the employ of Mr. Blue (one of the main mobsters in town) until they switched teams for more money. Turns out, they don’t want Mr. Blue to get hold of the password any more than Nick does. So... they aim to kill him. Of course, Nick ain’t gonna let that happen. And he cleans up the apartment complex with the goons. Speaking of Mr. Blue, he’s busy having cheese and crackers with Detective Meredith. They discuss family stuff, like how Meredith broke up Sax’s marriage with a little illicit romance, and then broke his heart. And like how she and her mom are indebted to him. And like how the Don passed the password over Blue’s head, and gave it to his nephew instead. By the end of the meal, they come to an arrangement: if Meredith delivers Sax to Blue, she’s out of his debt.

5 Happy! Episode Guide

Speaking of Nick, he wants to leave town — things are starting to heat up too much. So he seeks succor in his old pal Le Dic, who’s busy playing cards with some other underworld buddies. Le Dic hates Nick’s guts for screwing him on a deal. If Nick wants money and guns (which he does), he’s going to need to play cards for ’em (which he does). He doesn’t do so well. But soon he gets a little unexpected help from Happy. Happy can read cards, but no one can read him — because he’s invisible. So in exchange for telling him whose got what cards, Nick promises to help find Hailey. Best. Partnership. Ever! It works... Until Happy gets a snout-full of blow, and goes absolutely bonkers. Nick’s just his ace in the hole, so he plans on hitting the bricks with his winnings. But Le Dic is sure not going to let Nick go considering he’s under contract with Mr. Blue to keep this vigilante locked down. And alive. So... things are at an impasse. Nick has to take things into his own hands. And use those hands to smash smash smash. He picks off the others’ guns, and goes to town. After vanquishing the underworld types, Nick takes Le Dic’s car and makes a beeline out of the city. When Happy comes down from his phenomenal high, he realizes: Nick’s flipping on his side of the deal. Not cool, dude. Amanda Hansen, Hailey’s mom and Nick’s ex, confronts Meredith down at the depot. She wants Merry’s help finding Nick and Hailey. Meredith says she can connect her with a missing persons detective, but she doesn’t owe her jack. So Amanda socks her one in the face. Before heading westward, Nick stops off at a diner. Killing can work up an appetite. Happy is still trying to get him to go find Hailey, but Nick is dead set against it. Happy tries another tack: by telling him that if Hailey dies, Happy dies as well. Nick doesn’t soften. It takes another trip to Jerry Springer to knock some sense into Nick’s thick skull. So Nick leaves that diner, picks up Happy, and heads back into the city to rescue... his daughter.

When Christmas Was Christmas

Season 1 Episode Number: 3 Season Episode: 3

Originally aired: Wednesday December 20, 2017 Writer: Brian Taylor Director: Brian Taylor Show Stars: Christopher Meloni (Nick Sax), Ritchie Coster (Francisco Scaramucci), Lili Mirojnick (Det. Meredith McCarthy), Medina Senghore (Amanda Hansen), Patton Oswalt (Happy) Guest Stars: Joseph D. Reitman (Very Bad Santa), Bryce Lorenzo (Hailey Hansen), Hannah Hodson (Prostitute), Alison Fraser (Mrs. Claws), Don Stephen- son (Emil), Lucas Van Engen (Erik Patterson), Asra Arif (Conception ’Coco’ Sanz), Glenn Wein (Dr. Garnele), Collin Smith (Barman), Lily Davis (Delight), Anne Troup (Emma Baker), Jon Berry (Brent Baker), Catherine Ashmore Bradley (Penny Baker), Quentin Morales (Cal), Ashley Albert (Little Voice) Summary: While tracking his daughter, Sax remembers his dark past. Merry and Amanda make a chilling discovery. Hailey is coerced into spilling in- formation about her dad.

We start the episode off with a flashback. A ten-years-ago flashback to be precise. Nick is still on the force, and Meredith is his partner. And they’re chasing after bad guys. Their suspect is some hotshot lawyer who’s been dipping his fingers into some dirty deals. But he’s saying that he’s got some kind of immunity from the NYPD. But does he have it from Nick Sax? Unlikely. Back in the present, Nick promised Happy that he was going to help him find Hailey, and that’s just what he’s doing. But Happy can’t remember where Hailey is, which would be helpful. He can remember what the Santa Claus looked like. So... Nick hits up an old pal of his from the force, a sketch artist by the name of Emil. Emil was let go after losing a few screws. Anyway, to find out what the Santa Claus perp looks like, Happy describes him to Nick who describes him to Emil. Oh, also in the flashback, we learn that Nick and Meredith had sex. Lots of it, by the looks of it. Very secret sex. This drove a wedge in Nick and Amanda’s, um, marriage. In the present, Meredith is in unbinds Amanda (who’s in lockup for socking the cop) and agrees to help her find Hailey. She drops some info: Perv Santy Claus always leaves a calling card with the parents of his victims: a Christmas card. Another little girl has gone missing, but her parents haven’t received a card yet. So Merry and Amanda decide to seek them out. And after getting the sketch of their pervy perp, Nick floors the PT Cruiser away. He’s soon trailed by some cops looking for a stolen car, evades them, but flips his ride, totals it, and has to vacate the scene of the crime. Sax meets his prostitute insider again, and asks her for intel on a creepy Claus. She directs him to the North Pole. The North Pole the strip club. Oh yeah! The North Pole is where all the make-believe Santas go to make-believe they’re not depressed and sex-deprived. But pervy Claus isn’t at the North Pole. He’s busy feting Hailey at his own hideaway. When she refuses to eat any of his fruitcake, he imitates his little boy voice — the

7 Happy! Episode Guide voice Hailey thought was coming from another abducted child. She told this imaginary boy all about her dad and how he was going to save her. Now, knowing she’s been deceived, she’s scared out of her wits, and eats the fruitcake, which is, of course, drugged. Meanwhile, Amanda and Meredith visit the latest missing girl’s parents, looking for informa- tion. When they say something about Hailey, Amanda chokes up, and has to go upstairs to use the restroom. She starts poking around the little girl’s empty room, and finds... a breakaway wall inside the girl’s closet, that leads to a crawl space. It’s an... interesting architectural decision. Their little girl that went missing? She’s in there. It’s a hoax. Back in a flashback, Nick and Meredith are called back to the house of the high-profile lawyer. He’s known for some pretty bad stuff, but nothing this bad: he put his girlfriend’s baby in the microwave. And cooked it. So Nick takes him outside and opens up an entire line of whoop-ass cans on him, while Meredith watches. Of course, you can see why Nick might not have wanted to bring a child of his own into the world. Why he might leave that child, and her mother, high and dry. You can sorta see... Back in the present, Nick is jawing with Mrs. Claus, the OG of the North Pole strip club. She’s got some dirt on the perp Nick’s looking for. A real Santa way back when was the big shot of the department store Christmas racket. That was until he hanged himself — he had a sweet tooth for touching little kids that climbed up on his knee, and the guilt caught up with him. His son, though, decided to follow in his legacy, and take it one step further to kidnapping. Meanwhile, Santa gets inside Hailey’s head, thanks to the drugs, and gets some optics on Nick Sax. He knows what he looks like, so he can keep an eye out for him. Outside the North Pole, while Nick is trying to take a peaceful piss, he’s accosted by creepy Santa. They fight. Saint Nick’s got one over on Nick Sax. Turns out he’s got a lot of strength. And he’s about ready to kill our hero, too. Until... next week!

Year of the Horse

Season 1 Episode Number: 4 Season Episode: 4

Originally aired: Wednesday December 27, 2017 Writer: Noelle Valdivia Director: Wayne Che Yip Show Stars: Christopher Meloni (Nick Sax), Ritchie Coster (Francisco Scaramucci), Lili Mirojnick (Det. Meredith McCarthy), Medina Senghore (Amanda Hansen), Patrick Fischler (Smoothie), Patton Oswalt (Happy) Guest Stars: Joseph D. Reitman (Very Bad Santa), Bryce Lorenzo (Hailey Hansen), Christopher Fitzgerald (Sonny Shine), Ben Cole (Landon), Laura Poe (Jessica McCarthy), Gus Halper (Mikey Scaramucci), Jennifer Kim (Elizabeth), Antonia Rey (Assunta), Ren Colley (Kenji), Debi Mazar (Is- abella Scaramucci), Carly Sullivan (Gala Scaramucci), Dante Pereira- Olson (Gerry Scaramucci), Katie Beth Hall (Brooke), Quentin Morales (Cal), Benjamin Snyder (Chris Wick), Joe Perrino (Pal Scaramucci), Sam Wolf (Florian Scaramucci), Alexander Aguilar (Barron Scara- mucci), Moise Morancy (Courier), Allen Enlow (Coroner), Alexander Jameson (Noah), Catherine Lefrere (Anna-Theresa), Stephanie Gib- son (Pixley), Karen Giordano (Elena), Joy Shatz (Jean), Ian Unterman (Gene), Eric McKinley (August Edgebloom), Stephen Lin (Ping), Meng Ai (Willy), Eston Fung (Delivery Boy) Summary: Sax and Happy follow the trail to Chinatown. Blue’s sister wants re- venge for the death of her sons. Merry closes in on Very Bad Santa.

Bad Santa’s got Happy in his clutches, and he can see him, too. Weird. Turns out that if you believe in Happy, he’s not imaginary. Santa then swallows Happy, because beating the crap out of Nick worked up in him a mighty appetite. But before Santa can finish Nick off with a pipe, Happy forces himself back up Santa’s esophagus. The cops come, and Santa flees. But before he does, he leaves with Nick a clue: a thrown-up fortune cookie. Over at the local coroner’s, a reality TV film crew is taping the mother of the slain Scaramucci boys, Isabella, talking with Mr. Blue. She’s cashing in on her family tragedy. How novel! But when she gets a look at the real carnage, the cinematic glimmer wears off, and she succumbs to her misery. Meanwhile, Amanda and Merry are interviewing another family whose daughter was taken when they see a helmeted man drive up on a motorcycle outside. He’s got an envelope in his hand (just like the one they’re looking for), and might have some connection to the missing kids. On the other side of town, Nick pays a visit to the fortune cookie factory that made the fortune... and the cookie. He meets with the owner of the factory, and insults her by rejecting her belief that the universe works according to a divine order. Not the best way to get information from someone. But she gives in anyway, and tells him what restaurant that fortune went out to. And it’s in Chinatown. Back at Mr. Blue’s home, Isabella has some strong words for her brother. She believes that somebody, she’s not naming names, but somebody very high up put a hit out on her boys,

9 Happy! Episode Guide and she wants to know who. Of course, Mr. Blue denies any implications or allegations, instead claiming the murders were revenge killings — an act of God. Mr. Blue is whisked away on business, and is picked up in a car and taken to the home of a... beetle. A human-sized beetle that really puts the squeeze on him. Mr. Blue is getting sloppy, and this beetle he works for is not pleased with all the exposure. This beetle guy also needs Blue to make some deliveries, and pick up some ”kid”. Interesting. Meanwhile, Merry and Amanda interrogate the messenger they found dropping off the letter. He doesn’t know nothing about nothing, but that’s not good enough for nobody. After enough torturing, the guy gives up the details: it’s a dead drop. He gets message and a location, and picks up. It’s super secret. While at the Chinese restaurant, Nick Sax is introduced to the shop’s delivery boy. He knows the guy Nick’s looking for. He also sells pot. So he’s got everything you need. Only thing is he’s a little fuzzy on the details. So Nick takes the delivery boy with him as his guide. Of course, when the two step outside, the local Triad gang attempts to assassinate Nick, but only succeed at impaling the delivery boy with a flying knife. Triads spotted Sax in the restaurant, and are out for the password. A fight ensues, and Nick takes down the gang members in something that’s not quite Kung Fu, and not quite pretty, either. The Triads take the fight outside, where Nick proceeds to take them down one by one, and escape. Isabella meets with an Italian mystic who, in exchange for a hot hamburger, reads her fortune. She tells her that Isabella has an enemy in her own house. And this enemy killed her three sons. Mikey, she says, is not with them... is he not dead? Hot damn! When Isabella returns to the coroner’s, Mikey’s body is missing. Is that what the beetle man was looking for? Merry follows the trail, alone, to the warehouse where Bad Santa is keeping the kids. Of course, Nick also arrives at the same warehouse, and thinks that Merry is the abductor. So he tries to tackle her. She, in turn, stabs him with a pair of scissors, and he goes down, injured. Honest mistake. By the time they get there, though, Bad Santa has relocated all the kinder somewhere else. The crates are all empty. Bad Santa is taking them to who-knows-where in the back of a van. Nothing ever good comes of a van.

With Special Guest by Klasky Csupo Inc.

Al seems lost! Hailey and the other kids have been whisked away, and their ab- ductor has left not a trace of their where- abouts. The warehouse is empty. That is except for Happy, Sax and Merry, the lat- ter of who are not on good terms. When Sax realizes Merry (and Amanda) is on the case he nearly flips his sh*t. After Merry pulls a gun on him, he decides to throw in with his ex-partner, even if she’s doing this to get out of Mr. Blue’s debt. They’re a team again! Back at Merry’s place, Smoothie has doused the house in some kind of toxic liquid that knocks Merry out. He’s also gone and kid- napped her mom, and is taking her to who knows where... Meanwhile, Very Bad Santa has dropped the kids off at a production stage, built to look like a classroom. The kids are all alone. Or so they think. Smoothie takes his place at the front desk as the headmaster, and he’s going to be teaching these kids a lesson. Apparently they’ve all been very disobedient, and need to be punished. Not really, but Smoothie does have a flair for outsized behavior. Looks like Santa and Smoothie are working together. Over at Amanda’s place, Nick is trying to atone for years of adultery, abandonment, and general assholery and prove that he’s trying to help find his daughter. Amanda is understandably pissed, and slow to accept his apologies. It doesn’t help her that just then her house is ambushed by a small troupe of masked, axe-wielding men intent on killing her, and then Nick — whoever

11 Happy! Episode Guide comes first. Nick springs into action, and axes each and every one of the invaders. Amanda tag teams, and together they vanquish the lot. After all the killings are brought to a close, Amanda demands Nick vacate the house. She’s got 911 on the line and she’s ready to throw him under the bus. He takes the hint, and blows the place. Merry regains consciousness on top of her father’s grave — not a very subtle sign — and returns to the cop depot. When she does, she gets a talking to by two of her colleagues. They tell her in no uncertain terms: quit looking for this kidnapped kid. Cease and desist, or something’s going to happen to her. Is EVERYONE in this town corrupt? Back in the classroom, Smoothie feeds all the kids cake. But Hailey isn’t biting. She still has hope that Happy and her dad are going to rescue her. Speaking of her dad... having been rejected by Amanda, penniless, and delayed at the subway, Nick sees no reason to continue living. So he does a swan back dive into the train tracks. But just as the train is coming, Nick has a change of heart: he’s going to find Hailey! However, his ulcer starts acting up, and he can’t make it over the platform! Thankfully, the other passengers go against their typical New Yorker hate-thy-neighbor disposition, and help Sax to his feet. Looks like the world isn’t all bad after all. Meanwhile, Isabella and the gypsy are on set of the mafia reality show. Isabella is cooking Mikey’s favorite dish, meatballs, in order to lure him back from wherever he is (because, suppos- edly, his not-dead body is still ambling around NYC naked). And Sax got himself aboveground, but Happy has disappeared. He was pretty disillusioned by all the ill will down in the subway before Sax was rescued. It broke his little hairy heart, and he decided to split. So Sax is all alone walking through the cold streets of NYC. He overhears a guy whistling ”Blue Christmas,” and it brings back a memory: The memory of when Mr. Blue introduced Nick to the Very Bad Santa, and requested that Nick take him under his wing. Nick declined. Nick puts the dots together: Blue’s behind this mass kidnapping operation. But why?

Happy finds solace in the arms of another imaginary friend.

Bereft of Hailey, Nick, and any believ- ers, a dejected Happy attends a sup- port group for rejected, abandoned imag- inary friends. A three-headed dog invites him back to where it’s staying, so Happy goes along. Speaking of strange meetings, remember missing (and formerly dead) Mikey? Well, he’s been wandering NYC naked and dazed, masturbating in the streets, looking for some direction. Nick happens to sit down next to him on the street, and tries to jog his memory for the password. But the kid is so out of it that he can hardly speak, except for ”Blue.” Nick can’t be burdened right now with the incapacitated, uncooperative Mikey, so he drops him off at the local church. Meanwhile, Smoothie is busy turning his class of naughty youngsters into an army of well-behaved exemplars of obedience. Speaking of school, Nick beelines it for a local one at which the kids are performing a nativity. One of those kids happens to be Mr. Blue’s son, and his daddy is in the audience. Nick gives Blue a choice: he tells Smoothie to release Hailey, or Blue’s kid and wife are on the line. Nick also offers up Mikey to sweeten the deal. And back to Mikey. Mikey comes out of his daze, and crawls his way to the confessional chamber. The priest meets him there, in order to confess him. Mikey starts spouting Latin, all about his sins, some demonic jargon, and uses a different tone of voice, all of which would lead us to believe that this ain’t Mikey.

13 Happy! Episode Guide

Oh, and the place those other imaginary friends took Happy? Well... It happens to be the room of Mr. Blue’s son. And, go figure, the kid is a little monster that likes to torture and disfigure his imaginary friends and make them play Russian roulette–you know, kid stuff. Little serial killer in the making. And over at Isabella’s place, she and her sisters, and the gypsy, and the camera crew, have prepared the marinara sauce just the way Mikey liked it: with gypsy menstrual blood in it. This is all in an effort to lure his zombie butt back. Well, turns out... it works. Mikey showed up at his old place, and his family goes nuts. And Hailey, told by Smoothie that her father is dead, rallies the kids to break out of the classroom and run away. But they don’t get very far before Smoothie halts their progress. They run off through the studio set, and Smoothie seems beyond joyed that they’re misbehaving — it means he gets to inflict punishment now. Meanwhile, it’s time for Let’s Make A Deal, Happy!-style. Nick shows up outside Blue’s house. Neither man has what they promised the other. Although Blue did bring some extra muscle to the drop. Nick is outnumbered, and is soon outmaneuvered, Tased, and knocked out. He’s then tied up, taken into Blue’s garage, and surrounded by Blue’s boys, ready to be executed by their many, many guns. Nick starts shooting his mouth off, buying time. Of course, in so doing he also unwittingly alerts Happy of his whereabouts — they’re in the same house, remember! When Happy hears Nick’s voice, it gives him new hope and new reason to evade his torturers. He flies to Nick’s rescue. Amanda gets in to trouble as she pursues a dangerous lead alone. Blue and Isabella feud over a dark family secret.

Well, it’s not Merry’s Christmas this year, as her mother has passed away af- ter taking some tainted pills given to her by Blue. Oh, he’s gonna pay. And meanwhile, Nick has to escape Blue’s stronghold. How does he do that? By us- ing Blue’s wife and son as his human shields (one for the front, one for the back). It’s risky, but it’s a risk Sax is will- ing to take. After they all make it out alive, Blue’s wife tells Nick where her cheating, loathsome husband ran off to (his sister’s place). Obviously, Mrs. Blue has some beef with her beau. And Mikey, Mikey ain’t doing so hot. He’s got an insatiable appetite for raw meat. If it’s got E Coli in it, even better. This demon inside him is coming alive! Amanda meets with Sunny Shines, the megastar performer at whose performance Hailey was abducted. He’s a common denominator: all the kids that were kidnapped happened to be at his show at the time. Amanda wants Sunny to use his celebrity to raise awareness of the issue. He, in turn, makes a disgusting pass at her, and give her free tickets to his next show. What a guy. Oh, and by the way, Sunny? He’s Mr. Bug. And he’s also not done with Amanda. Mr. Blue arrives at his sis’ looking for Mikey... and the password. She tells him to go to hell. He, in turn, starts to kill members of the reality TV crew that have been following his sister and her retinue around. Back at the Sunshine building, Mr. Bug’s goons lock Amanda in and won’t let her leave. She runs away, and stumbles into a room and onto what looks like the illest party of

15 Happy! Episode Guide the year. Everyone there is in tight-fitting rubber costumes, wearing animal-head masks, having sex, genuflecting before Mr. Bug, feasting on manna in the form of large pupae — this thing is lit. Then they spot Amanda... who ruins their fun. And Merry, on the hunt for Blue, pulls over his car, not expecting to see Nick Sax riding captain. They decide to pair up, despite themselves, to find Hailey and the other kids. That’s when Merry gets a call from Amanda — the bug people have got her, and she needs help. Sax and Merry are on it. Back at the stage, Smoothie is wrapping up the kids in toy boxes, ready for shipping. Whither? Probably some freaks. There’s no shortage of freaks in this world. Happy has led Merry and Nick to Sunny’s Rainbow Castle, where the toys are made, and where the kids are being held. It’s like if Disney built a theme park during the Inquisition. Anyway, Merry and Sax split up, and make their respective incursions. Inside, Merry gets in a scrape with a cuddly, alien, plushy, killer type creature, and only manages to evade it by shooting it in the groin and draining it of its gooey, juicy juices. Meanwhile, Sax gets led by the nose into a classroom where he thinks Smoothie is lecturing to a bunch of kids. This was a trap — a recording of Smoothie’s voice coming from a speaker. The real Smoothie then jumps on Sax’s back, and knocks him out with ether. Top marks, boys. In another stage, Smoothie ties Sax up, and ties him down to a table. Then he straps on his... large, sexual toy to his waist. Looks like he’s ready to torture Sax where the sun don’t shine. While filming it of course. That’s when Merry enters, gun a blazing! She pops Smoothie one in the eye, and then proceeds to untie Nick (and remove the log of a dildo from his behind). Under strict orders from Mr. Bug, Blue has arrived at the Castle, and sends off the truck filled with all the boxed boys and girls. Blue didn’t want to be selling kids into child slavery, but one bad turn deserves another, he ended up in Bug’s debt, and now he’s doing exactly that. Just then Merry and Sax bust in, and vanquish all of Blue’s men. Blue runs away like the coward he is. But he doesn’t get very far. Blue cuts himself up on the barbed wire fence he tried to surmount, and ends up flat on the ground, and at Merry’s mercy. She probably won’t have any for him. When Nick finally catches up to the truck, the driver’s been shot execution style, and all the kiddies are gone!

Meredith McCarthy), Medina Senghore (Amanda Hansen), Patrick Fischler (Smoothie), Patton Oswalt (Happy) Guest Stars: Joseph D. Reitman (Very Bad Santa), Bryce Lorenzo (Hailey Hansen), Christopher Fitzgerald (Sonny Shine), Ren Colley (Kenji), Gus Halper (Mikey Scaramucci), Jamie Elizabeth Kelton (Pregnant Lil Bo Peep (voice)), Luke Slattery (Sock Puppet (voice)), Jack Cotterell (Nutcracker (voice)), Will McInerney (Benjamin Peters), Brian Ogilvie (Lenny Don- nelly), George Letrell (Prison Guard), Samantha Bishop (Beth), Lily Buchanan (Jamie), Katie Beth Hall (Brooke), Alexander Jameson (Noah), Quentin Morales (Cal), Benjamin Snyder (Chris Wick) Summary: With Christmas approaching, Sax and Happy are locked in a climatic confrontation to rescue Hailey from Very Bad Santa’s lair; and Merry sets out to save Amanda from a far more powerful foe.

When we last left our heroes, Merry had found Blue and was torturing him; Sunny Shines was supervising a satanic orgy rit- ual; and Nick was chasing down a truck filled with all the abducted kids. Well... not all the abducted kids. As unhappy Happy finds out, Hailey was not on that truck. Santa’s got her! Rats! Realizing this, Nick gets Blue in his clutches, and demands he tell him where Hailey is — under penalty of ass whoop- ing. But Blue won’t talk, even after get- ting a back-full of barbed wire. Then Happy gets an idea: torture Bad Santa’s imaginary friend for the info! For those of you who don’t remember, Bad Santa’s imaginary friend was a sock puppet, and he dropped him on the dock! Hard to keep track of an abducted child and a sock puppet at the same time. Anyway, back in the room where the support group was being held, Happy duct tapes the sock puppet to a chair, and... tickles him until he squeals! And he does! Meanwhile, Amanda has woken up in a white room, with Sunny Shines standing over her. He tells her that tonight’s the Wishtacular event. Also, that she doesn’t have long to live. Over in the warehouse, Bad Santa, sensing that Nick is on his tail, slips away with Hailey into ”Toyland”, a magical place filled with toys galore, some even living! Of course, Santa is as high out of his mind and blasted as a B-52 bomber jet, and is only hallucinating Toyland. Hailey sees through the whole mirage, and screams. Nick and Happy make it into one of the rooms in Santa’s warehouse and find out what hap- pens to all those kids he abducted: they eventually grow up into young adults. One of these kids comes over to Nick with a slinky, looking to play. He’s had better days. Or maybe not? He could definitely use a toothbrush, though. In one of the inner workrooms in Santa’s factory (read: dun- geon), the man in charge has taken Hailey up on her knee, about to drill into her skull and make

17 Happy! Episode Guide her a human nutcracker. Hailey’s definitely her father’s daughter, and smashes a snow globe into the perv’s face. The sound of Santa’s screams alert Nick of his whereabouts. Nick rushes over to where it came from, and in so doing, steps into a bear trap. Oh it hurts. It hurts bad. Happy has to go on alone, which he does. And over at Sunshine Tower, Merry confronts Shines about Amanda’s whereabouts, and surprisingly he just lets his captive go. Guess he didn’t want any trouble with the cops just as he was preparing for his big show. Either way, the two women are reunited, and head out to find Nick and Hailey. Back at the warehouse, Happy finds Santa. He tells Hailey to run away while he lays into the tinsel festooned freakazoid. Oh, he unleashes all his plushy power onto him. Unfortunately, it’s not enough, and Santa prevails over Happy, throws him into a jar of formaldehyde, and screws down the lid. Santa chases Hailey all the way to the roof of the building. There are cop cars below, and she’s teetering right at the edge of the parapet. He tries to persuade her to come with him, to stay young forever, and never have to grow up. It was too late for him, but it’s not for her. Before Hailey can fall for his trick, Santa hears a noise from the roof entrance, and scurries away. That noise was Nick! He extricated himself from the trap and hobbled his way to the roof! And he’s reunited with his daughter! Even if he loathes to call her that. Aww sweet. Of course, the reunion is short-lived, as Santa returns with a vengeance, and tussles scrappily with Nick. Nick gets the upper hand, but eventually succumbs to yet another heart attack that gives Santa an opening. He’s about to throw Nick off the roof when... Happy returns! He managed to break out of the glass jar and find his way to the roof as well. It’s a roof party! Happy starts to kick Santa’s ass. Then... he gets his own ass kicked. Well, he’s just an imaginary friend, not a judo champion. Finished with Happy, Santa picks up a pipe, ready to bash Nick’s skull in. Of course, a pipe is no match for a gun (which is what Nick has) and POP! POP! Santa goes down, down, down. Say goodnight, Gracie. Finally, Hailey is safe. And she’s got herself, Nick and Happy to thank. Nick returns Hailey to Amanda, and the two make a tentative agreement to kind of sort of become a family again but not really just yet. Then Nick passes out again. Some days pass. Nick has recovered. Hailey is on the mend, and Happy... well, Happy is starting to fade away. Hailey’s growing up, and he’s growing apart. He’s off to find some other kid in need of a friend. That kid happens to be Nick, who really needs some emotional reinforcement before taking his daughter and ex-wife out for a family date at Coney Island. We’ll see how this goes... Oh, and Blue? He was thrown in prison. His nephew Mikey visits him there to deliver the password or some hot air or his demon energy into Blue’s body? Once Mikey makes the transfer, the kid drops over dead. Quite the load was lifted.

Beverley (Kid) Summary: Sax is clean. . . ish. But somehow the filth just seems to find him.

A clutch of ambivalent nuns is ready to commit ritual suicide by TNT in the mid- dle of downtown Manhattan. One errant nun runs off and finds a detonator in- side an Easter egg inside a trash can, and starts blowing up her sisters. It’s absolute nun-sense. She’s picked up by the cops and interrogated and confesses: a man in a black leather bunny suit told her and the sisters that the detonator would kill the person closest to it. She thought she was doing the others a blessing. In lay news, Nick is trying to go sober. And it’s sort of working, in no small part because of Happy’s constant reminders. He’s even become an OK dad and picks up Hailey from school. But for how much longer? Because Hailey’s been kicked out due to violent and abusive behavior and recommended to a Catholic girl’s school. Nick breaks the news to Amanda, who’s still traumatized from her own encounters with Sunny Shines last season, and she takes it surprisingly well. Speaking of Catholics, and Sunny Shines encounters... Sunny Shines has dropped in at the Vatican (looking like he just dropped acid at the Vatican) and is trying to sell the Pope on his new scheme to re-brand Easter. Soft-boiled eggs? And Blue, possessed and in prison, is having some weird, Spawn-esque nightmares. He’s visited by Isabella and a nun (it’s like three nuns per person in this episode) and is told that the god of death Orcus leapt into his body when Mikey whispered ”the secret” into his ear. Orcus

21 Happy! Episode Guide has been body-hopping throughout the Scaramucci genealogy since forever, and his next mark is Isabella. But the nun puts an end to that: she stabs Isabella to death with her quilting needles. That needled has been threaded for the last time. In another side of town, crooked non-profit president Scooter Sterling is lured by a young woman in a short skirt into a trap and is picked up by bunny-suit-man — the same one who coerced the nuns into mass suicide. And some more updates: Merry has become a realtor! And she’d be really successful at it too, if Nick weren’t stalking all the houses she shows. He wants to borrow a place for when he has custody of Hailey. That kind of makes his bizarre behavior seem sort of... redeeming. Merry and Nick chat about the recent past, and both profess to be over it. But you know they ain’t! While the adults are chit-chatting, Happy meanders to the bathroom and discovers he’s going through puberty. And Nick, who’s driving a cab now, picks up this scuzzball. Said scuzzball is prepared to pay $1000 for a new date for the evening. Nick, short on cash, thinks he can hook it up. So he picks up one of his sex worker friends, and brings her to a warehouse with a roomful of diverse clientele. They want her to get dressed in a hospital gown. Then she’s asked about her blood type. It doesn’t take long before Happy and Nick realize they’ve gathered to harvest the prostitute’s blood and organs and pump them into some old guy. Nick, despite his oaths to not kill people any more, kills everyone in the room. Easy slip-up. But, consolation prize: he gets to keep the spilled guts of those he subdued. To Nick the victor go the spoils. Oh, and who is the man in black leather with the bunnie ears? It’s Smoothie! The eunuch! And he’s working for Sunny Shines. The company he keeps. Till next week.

Tallahassee

Season 2 Episode Number: 10 Season Episode: 2

Originally aired: Wednesday April 03, 2019 Writer: Evan Reilly Director: Christopher Meloni Show Stars: Christopher Meloni (Nick Sax), Ritchie Coster (Francisco Scaramucci / Mr. Blue), Lili Mirojnick (Meredith McCarthy), Medina Senghore (Amanda Hansen), Patrick Fischler (Smoothie), Christopher Fitzgerald (Sonny Shine), Bryce Lorenzo (Hailey Hansen), Patton Oswalt (Happy (voice)) Guest Stars: Daniel Sunjata (Simon), Jordan Gelber (Saul), Wass Stevens (Geno Sarcuzzi), Aaron Serotsky (David), Bob Turton (Scoot), Laura Jordan (Lena), Julian Lerner (Calev), Olan Montgomery (Gambler #1), Ron Stroman (Gambler #2), Richard Bergman (Bingo Caller) Summary: Hailey spends a day with dad. These mitzvahs are murder.

Can we believe our eyes?! Because Nick can’t. He’s having nightmares about har- vesting dead guys for their organs to make ends meet. Such are the wages of actually harvesting dead guys for their organs to make ends meet. Nick is tasked by Amanda with looking after Hailey for a whole day, something he’s never done before. And what’s the first thing she does? Open the fridge and spot all the bloody, chilling organs. Nick didn’t even properly tupperware them. Time to play How to Scar a Child for Life in a Single Day. And Sunny Shines’ rebranding ploy is already paying dividends. His stunts (or should we just call them terrorist attacks?) have been interpreted by the yellow press as an assault on Easter. That means it’s time for Sunny and his bandwagon to come to town. Meanwhile, Blue is thinking about taking a plea deal, which would get his possessed ass out of prison and into a Witness Protection program in Wyoming (ex-gangster’s paradise), but it means he’s got to sing like a canary. His lawyer warns against it. Blue doesn’t care. Smoothie is up to his old hijinks again, and has flayed all of Scooter Sterlin’s skin from his body, trellessed him up in some swanky leather chaps and chains, and slipped on some deadly stilletos. And then the fun starts. Running out of kid-friendly fun options, Nick takes Hailey to the satellite betting depot where they can bet imaginary bucks on real horseys. Hailey shows a preternatural knack for it, and Nick thinks he can parlay his little Rain Daughter’s genius into real cash. First, he needs the ante, and Hailey’s got 40 large she got from Amanda. When her mom calls, Hailey tells her that they’re at Coney Island. Watch out, Hailey, the road to perdition is a one way street! Why was Blue’s lawyer so apprehensive about him taking the plea deal? Because Blue’s lawyer is also working for Sunny Shines, who wants the kingpin dead. So the lawyer arranges the hit. When Hailey’s horse loses, Nick erupts and wants to double down. On the horse. But he also kind of doubles down on being a bad dad, and yells at Hailey when she doesn’t fork over more cash. She bolts. Faster than the horse she bet on, incidentally.

23 Happy! Episode Guide

While chasing down Hailey, Nick bumps into the son of the old man who was supposed to get a kidney transplant in the warehouse the other day. They found another match, and they want Nick to make the pick up and drop off. He can’t turn it down. The address given to Nick takes him to the house of a man named Saul. When he asks for ”the package”, Saul points to it: it’s his own kidney. Looks like this was a set up. Nick gives his contact a call just to straighten things out. After some clarification, Nick gets to work. Merry intercepts Blue’s lawyer, and tortures him until he spills on what he’s doing at Shines Tower. Sunny blackmails everyone within a 100 mile radius of his operations with videotapes of them confessing their most depraved desires. Merry wants to see those tapes. It’s about time for Nick to make that drop off. He leaves Hailey in his idling car while he heads in to the bingo hall he’s been sent to. Of course, when Nick finally does make the drop off, the box doesn’t have a kidney in it, but an explosive. It acts as a diversion as Nick proceeds to vanquish the client. Nick returns to the car, scraped up, and Hailey asks what all the noise was. He can’t bear to tell her. She knows he’s lying, and she’s hurt. But in all fairness, he’s in a double-bind: tell her the truth, and traumatize her; tell her a lie, and she’ll hold it against him for life. Upon dropping Hailey off, Nick gets to meet the guy that Amanda hung out with all day, Simon, whom she met at the department store while she was picking up some Easter decorations. They used to go steady, and now they’re both single and ready to mingle. What a great ending to an awesome day in the life of Nick Sax. In other news, Amanda is starting to lose her damn mind, which you can chalk up to PTSSD (Post Traumatic Sunny Shines Disorder). And the hit that Sunny put on Blue takes effect.

Introducing the captivating Bebe DeBarge. A very Smoothie Easter Egg Hunt.

Remember when Hailey’s old teacher thought Catholic school would be good for her? Lol. When Hailey’s about to re- ceive the ash for Ash Wednesday, she has a flashback of perverted Santa Claus, and wrests the priest’s hand from her head, and breaks his thumb. She’s promptly chastized by the Mother Superior. Meanwhile, Nick is falling into his old habits as well. He’s just taken a break- ing and entering job from this upstand- ing gentleman, LeDic, and he’s to report at the docks to get ’er done. Amanda’s PTSD is getting more aggressive each day, and she nearly drowns a patient with the rinser while spacing out at work. Her dentist boss doesn’t want to fire her, but she is a liability. Novacane? More like you Novacan’t work here anymore. And what exactly did Smoothie have planned for Scooter Sterling? Well, at his foundation’s annual Easter egg hunt, the mindless, gluttonous children get to gorge themselves on littered chocolate surprises in a field. But what’s that hiding in the big Easter Bunny? It’s a skinless Scooter, that’s who! This is all according to Sonny Shine’s plan — to ruin Easter, and turn people onto the idiot box. After Amanda’s been let go, she has a teeny, tiny fit, grabs him by the coat collar, then starts to cry... but it’s nothing that a container-full of chocolate can’t fix! And the house that Nick’s supposed to roll through? It belongs to this woman, Bebe DeBarge, a now-retired actress of some of the greatest movies you’ve never heard of. She mistakes Nick for

25 Happy! Episode Guide the new poolboy (this sounds like a movie she was in) and invites him inside. It isn’t long before he learns who her husband is: Sonny Shine. Womp-womp. Oh, and remember when Blue was being blindsided by six prisoners, and all but doomed to death? Well, he made it out alive — with a lot of blood on his hands. Granted, he’s on an IV drip and in the infirmary, but that’s better than being dead. Posing as his niece, Merry drops by the infirmary to give Blue a photograph of his lying, stinking, no-good, SOB of a lawyer, and also to offer him a deal. Blue wants out, she wants Sonny. But Blue won’t take it. Perhaps at his own peril. Thinking his nurse is actually himself possessed by Orchus, Blue lashes out at her, and ends up brutally murdering her. No more Jello for him! And Hailey is being taunted by her peers at school. They’re spontaneously breaking into ”Jingle Bells” — even though it’s April — and drawing lewd cartoons of her and Santa Claus in amorous embrace. So she decides to throw down the gauntlet. Meanwhile, Amanda is achieving near-orgasmic experiences gorging on chocolate. Before she has to purge. Too much of a good thing... Sonny is playing a round of golf with the head of the network, who is looking to make signif- icant cuts to Sonny’s Easter TV extravaganza. Sonny, in turn, sets him up for blackmail. That’s the cost of doing business, apparently. After a somewhat successful looting of Bebe and Sonny’s pad, Nick discovers he has an even more successful career ahead of him as a dancer in a chorus line. Granted, his co-dancers are all Sonny’s security guards. Nick vanquishes a troupe of them in the most thespian way possible. And Nick’s final score? It was all those blackmailing tapes that Sonny’s got stashed away. Merry’s the client, and she persuades Nick to visit her clue cave. He’s intrigued. He wants to take down Sonny as much as the next guy (or gal, in this case), and this is definitely a promising way to do it. It’s also very colorful. Hailey and her nemesis show for a fight under the bleachers, and Hailey is woefully out- matched. She’s getting the preteen stuffing beaten out of her when... Someone, or something, yanks her foe up by the neck, and the bleachers start to trundle in. Hailey is spared instant death by a guardian angel. Which is more than can be said about her opponent. Who is Hailey’s guardian angel but...Smoothie! At school to pick Hailey up, Nick gets sidetracked. He and Merry rummage through the AV club’s prize wares to find a working VCR and TV set, probably on their last legs. They pop Sonny’s blackmail tapes in, and find that: it’s just him having sex with his wife. Low on scandal, high on stamina.

Mudd (Little Girl in Audience), Amanda Virzi (Classmate) Summary: Who the hell is Dayglo Doug? Sax, Merry and Happy enter a geriatric death trap. Don’t eat the jelly.

Remember that purloined tape from the Sonny Shine estate reveals one Dayglo Doug, dressing up as Hitler, doing the goose step, and Sieg Heil? Well, Sonny doesn’t need to say much to give DD the boot. Das boot on das live television. After getting the can, double D took a job as a resident comic at an old folks home. His audience has got one foot in the grave, and DD still doesn’t manage to kill. ZING! Meanwhile, Merry and Nick drop in to see DD, not so much his act as to get some answers and his help. He’s tight-lipped, still afraid of Sonny’s reprisals. But they might be able to offer him protection... and his show back. DD’s story of how Sonny Shine came to be gets a little derailed when he starts talking about ”Wishees,” creatures maybe from another planet that can seduce your mind and dress up in those plushy, alien, doll-like costumes. Nick has heard enough of Scientology-lite, and starts poking around the wards. Cranking the creep factor to 11 here, Smoothie has been following Hailey around, and slowly ingratiating himself into her company, at the park, outsides school. He’s trying to pitch himself as her only real friend in this world, her only real guardian. It’s kind of working. And when Sonny pitches his Easter Special to the TV network execs, and, surprise surprise, they all give it two, blackmailed thumbs up.

27 Happy! Episode Guide

After strolling around the old folks home, Nick finds out that it’s really an old Nazi folks home. Nick tries to tell this to Merry, but it’s too late. The fascists have flooded the building. Nick and Merry are going to have to go tag-team-Allies on this one, and handily dispatch the Nazis. And in prison, Blue is having a personality crisis. One minute, he’s Blue. The next, he’s Orchus, god of death. It’s very confusing, so just follow the accent. He doesn’t know if he has much time left as Blue... or Orchus for that matter. When Hailey drops by what she thinks is the place her mom still works at, she’s up for a rude surprise: she’s not there. Hailey’s starting to doubt whether the people in her life that say they care about her actually do. The shock nudges her ever more into Smoothie’s clutches. Merry brings Nick and DD back to her apartment, and shows the latter her web of clues on the Sonny conspiracy. He’s impressed. Nick goes to get himself a snack, while DD goes on a Wishee rant. Hankering for some PB&J, Nick gets a jar of oddly colored jelly. Could it be... some of that goo that came out of that thing that Merry shot in the last season? The goo stuff that Nick sticks down his gullet? Then craps out seconds later? Then crawls out of the toilet seconds after that? Then has a fight on the toilet with? Yes, yes, yes, and yes. Blue-Orcus drops in on a Russian mafia prison meeting in the prison kitchen, and demon- strates his superhuman strength: by making the leader of the pack cleave away most of his organs in front of everyone else. And Hailey confronts her mom on all the lies she’s been slinging. Amanda doubles down, and Hailey starts thinking about Smoothie.

Trips B, D, all of it. And on Hailey’s birthday. Amanda makes a breakthrough.

Remember when Nick crapped out a pink alien, wrestled with it on the toilet, and then nearly died? Right, so after all that, the two adversaries then broke through the window and continued their rowdy rendezvous outside. Having lost her hard evidence, Merry’s had to come up with a backup plan: She and Dayglo Doug are going to head to Shine Tower to get some more goo, straight from the source. DD is a little hesitant, mostly because Sunny is a vin- dictive and angry individual, and so he needs some coaxing before he’s willing to do that. And Nick is, shall we say, losing his damn mind. He’s running around the City pantsless looking for a personified goo. It’s not a good look, on anyone, much less Nick. He eventually gets picked up by three guys in Hillary Clinton masks (is there symbolism there?) waving around pistols. They happen to be a trio of guys Sax killed back in Season 1 (or thought he killed in Season 1). They contract him out for a job: kill Sunny Shines. In actuality, Sax is hallucinating this whole thing, is actually on a crosstown bus, and the men in Hillary Clinton masks (let’s just go with no symbolism) are actually like guardian angels reminding him that it’s his daughter’s birthday. He’s promptly thrown off the bus. Pull it together, girl! And little Hailey is growing up fast. She had to make breakfast, and get herself to school, all on her own, because Amanda is reeling from her time with Simon, as well as the PTSD. But, during lunch, Hailey happens to make three new friends, who just so happened to be three old enemies. They’re drawn to her after she tells them that the guy at the zoo is her boyfriend. Smoothie. Eunuch.

Meanwhile, Orcus is solidifying his hold over Blue, and delivering satanic sermons in the prison courtyard. But every so often Blue pulls a fast one and... makes Orcus fart. It’s the little rebellions that count. Merry and Dayglo Doug break into Shine Tower, and waylay the human Wishee that replaced the alien one Merry killed. He’s never actually met the other three Wishees, and Sonny wasn’t about to make that introduction. Merry gets an idea. Blue appeals to his cellmate and boyfriend Pink to put an end to Orcus’ reign once and for all... by killing him. It’s like Shawshank Redemption meets Little Nicky meets Kiss of the Spider Woman. And that squad of girls get Hailey a birthday cake for her birthday, but when she opens it... It looks just like the one she ate with Pervy Santa back in Season 1. But the Squad didn’t try to pull a fast one on her: they bought her a real cake. What’s going on?! Hailey throws a fit, and runs away. Sax is... slipping pretty deep into his withdrawal. He’s hallucinating Amanda telling him to hop off the wagon, and start killing people and drinking again. It’s bad. Back at Shine tower, Merry has donned the Wishee costume herself, to infiltrate the inner Wishee circle. On her way to rehearsal, she gets stopped in the hall by Smoothie, who sniffs her out. But she’s saved by the PA, who calls her to set. After skipping rehearsal (she’s going to get her pay docked for that), Merry suffocates a security guard keeping an eye on the security cameras. At the same time, Dayglo Doug breaks out of his dressing room to wax nostalgic on his old stage set. Sonny shows up, and is furious. DD shows him he’s got the blackmail tape, which only enrages Sonny more. So Sonny bashes DD’s face in with his own microphone. And kills him. Nick is hallucinating again, and this time it’s Happy as a horse. Happy-horse tells Narcosis Nick that he should skip town for good — that would be the best gift he could get Hailey for her b-day. Looks like Nick’s demons just won’t give him a break. But the real Happy is out at a bar, getting cozy with a Little Bo Peep imaginary friend. Looks like Happy’s doing some growing up of his own. And when Hailey comes home from school, Amanda snaps out of her delirium and remembers she missed her daughter’s birthday. That was the last straw. She realizes what she has to do now to break this spell over her. Feeling lost and alone, Hailey returns to the park, where she meets Smoothie. He seems to be the only person who cares about her. Seems is the operative word here, as it was he who swapped out that birthday cake. Dastard! Nick, still hallucinating, and still looking for a present for Hailey, also stumbles into Shine Tower (where is the security in this place?!). He sees (read hallucinates) Hailey holding a gun, and shooting him in the gut, ostensibly to get rid of him forever. He falls to the ground, hugging what he thinks is Hailey, who is, in reality, the big pink blob that is the Wishee. Amanda busts in to the Tower, looking for a meeting with Sonny. Someone get this woman a guest pass!

Season 2 Episode Number: 14 Season Episode: 6

Originally aired: Wednesday May 01, 2019 Writer: Patrick Macmanus, Ashley Michel Hoban Director: Marianna Palka Show Stars: Christopher Meloni (Nick Sax), Ritchie Coster (Francisco Scaramucci / Mr. Blue), Lili Mirojnick (Meredith McCarthy), Medina Senghore (Amanda Hansen), Patrick Fischler (Smoothie), Christopher Fitzgerald (Sonny Shine), Bryce Lorenzo (Hailey Hansen), Patton Oswalt (Happy (voice)) Guest Stars: Paul Wight (Big Pink), Michael Maize (Le Dic), Paige Howard (Dr. Julie), Jamie Elizabeth Kelton (Lil Bo Peep (voice)), Jeffrey Emerson (Warden Kilpatrick), David Bonderoff (Waiter #1), Stephanie Gould (Waiter #2), Mandela Bellamy (Waiter #3), Dwelvan David (Odipo), Natalia Eliza- beth (Pauline), Jaime Joseph (Paulette), E. James Ford (Easter Bunny), David O’Brien (Narrator (voice)) Summary: Meet Janet, you ape. Happy moves way past the (imaginary) Friend Zone. Sax and Merry get slimy.

The episode begins with a plushy pul- verizing. Merry, dressed in a Wishee cos- tume, confronts what she thinks is one of those alien Wishees, and shoots it in the ass. What she doesn’t know is that it’s actually Sax inside that Wishee cos- tume, and that she just shot Sax in the ass. Mistakes happen people, it’s how we move on that matters. Nick had by then come down from his hours-long hallucination just in time to slip into the Wishee costume and try to escape Shine Tower when Merry shot him in the ass. The two of them pair up to perform an unauthorized autopsy on whatever a Wishee actually is, but when they start to saw it open, it runs away. Meanwhile, Sonny’s goons lock Amanda up in a colorful, if inescapable, cell, where she is met by the Shine man himself. And the Wishees. Amanda wants answers. Sonny wants answers. But looks like the Wishees are the only ones who got some. And one of those answers is a surprise: Amanda is pregnant. Say what?! To keep her dosed until her next hankering, Sonny gives Amanda a vial of the addictive Wishee secretion. She gets her fix, and gets out of there. While chasing down the escaped Wishee, Merry and Sax run into Le Dic, who tips Nick off to a hit on his head: The Bug wants him dead. The Bug...? Oh yeah. Sonny Shine in the Bug costume. Well, that’s news indeed. At the penitentiary, the warden invites Blue (or Orcus) in for a little heart-to-heart. He’s seen how Blue’s managed to quell the infighting amongst the inmates, and that’s a problem: a little mayhem helps the guards keep the peace. So the warden wants Blue to put an end to the amnesty. Capiche? Also, Happy and Bo Peep are at Nick’s pad, getting to know each other a little better. He tells her all about how he was able to ”jump friends” from Hailey to Nick, and she tells him all about the birds and the bees. Then she tells him about sex. Then they have sex.

31 Happy! Episode Guide

Nick breaks away from the Wishees to take his daughter out for a birthday... plate of french fries. She gives him a chance to redo her birthday, but he says he’s too busy today. So she skips out on him when the birthday cake and singing waiter caravan arrives, and Smoothie takes her. The two reminisce about old times, and how happy it would make each of them to kill the other. But Smoothie threatens Hailey, and that’s more than Nick can bear. He’d rip out Smoothie’s throat right then and there if Hailey weren’t taking so long in the bathroom. He runs into the bathroom to check in on Hailey, scares the crap out of her, and then drops his daughter off at his mother’s place. The two have never met before, and probably for good reason. Janet is a foul-mouthed, boozing, unusual character — definitely her son’s mother. Hailey and Janet become fast friends, mostly because Hailey can mix a mean gin and tonic. And Amanda wants a second opinion on her pregnancy status (a costumed extraterrestrial isn’t necessarily qualified as an OBGYN), so she goes to a faith-based pregnancy clinic. Why? Who knows. Abortion is not an option. Dismayed and freaking out, Amanda resorts to the vial Sonny gave her for a little pick-me-up. It works dangerously fast, and helps her relive the bliss she felt at the orgy in Shine Tower. After Janet passes out drunk, Hailey sneaks off to the mall to hang out with Smoothie. He destroys whatever little innocence and naivete Hailey had left in her, turning her into a cold- hearted, pitiless machine. And remember when Blue asked Pink to kill him, and so stop Orcus’s reign? Well... he certainly tries. And Nick crashes one of Sonny’s costumed rave/orgies in order to kill him, when he’s sur- prised by one of the guests: Amanda. That was unexpected.

Arlo and Marie

Season 2 Episode Number: 15 Season Episode: 7

Originally aired: Wednesday May 08, 2019 Writer: Noelle Valdivia Director: Wayne Yip Show Stars: Christopher Meloni (Nick Sax), Ritchie Coster (Francisco Scaramucci / Mr. Blue), Lili Mirojnick (Meredith McCarthy), Medina Senghore (Amanda Hansen), Patrick Fischler (Smoothie), Christopher Fitzgerald (Sonny Shine), Bryce Lorenzo (Hailey Hansen), Patton Oswalt (Happy (voice)) Guest Stars: Paul Wight (Big Pink), Antonia Rey (Assunta), Amanda Palmer (Scara- mucci’s Wife), Debi Mazar (Isabella Scaramucci), Jamie Elizabeth Kel- ton (Bo Peep (voice)), Carly Sullivan (Gala Scaramucci), Jeffrey Emer- son (Warden Kilpatrick), Dwelvan David (Odipo), Inna Dukach (Opera Soprano), Amanda Palmer (Opera singer), Giuseppe Virzi (Gerry) Summary: This is one F-d up family dinner.

After Blue and Pink leapt to their deaths in a suicide mission to kill Orcus, Orcus survived, and Blue was sent to the little house on the prairie from hell. His family is there, all frozen in mutilation the way they died. It’s horrifying. Welcome home, Blue! Back at the orgy, Nick finds out from Amanda that she’s pregnant. When he tries to annihilate Sonny, the Wishees sic him. So he tries another tactic: tak- ing Amanda (and her baby) hostage. That seems to work, and Nick takes Amanda back to the show home (he’s getting a lot of mileage out of that place), and she gets a little handsy. That’s just when Hailey walks in. Amanda tells Hailey about the pregnancy, and that it was the hormones that made her act so strangely, and assures her that when the baby comes, they can all go back to being one big happy family. Sure... Meanwhile, Merry visits Santa Bianca, the needling nun, at prison, and asks her about Blue/Orcus. She says that Orcus is the god of death, who has been behind the assassinations of all the most beloved figures in history — Abe Lincoln, JFK, John Lennon, MLK. He orchestrates them with the use of the Wishees. Next on the list is... Sonny Shine. After Orcus breaks everyone out of prison, he drops in at Sonny’s estate with an offer: he’s going to help him get Amanda and the baby back with the help of all those escaped cons. Great, but what’s in it for Orcus? That’s when the god of death brings up the whole assassination thing... The Sax-Hansons try to have a nice family meal — orange juice risotto, yum! — but it soon goes off the rails when Amanda starts cracking up. She needs a fix. But when Nick get the stuff back from Amanda, she flips out. Nick throws the vial down the drain, and Amanda swears to return to Sonny. That’s when Nick ties her up in the basement, for her own good. Taking a break from subduing Amanda, Nick talks to Happy about his romantic problems with Bo Peep. Everything went great, so Happy thought, so why isn’t she calling him? Nick’s

33 Happy! Episode Guide advice: go sow your wild, imaginary seeds, Happy. But not before you stand watch at the front of the house. Nick then returns to the basement in time to keep Hailey from unlocking her mom’s handcuffs and setting her free. That’s when all the secrets come out: the kidnapping, the cover-ups. It’s too much for Hailey to handle. So she runs away. Not a good time, because Happy cues us in to some intruders at the house. The escaped cons have bombarded Nick’s house. It’s . After they barge in, they pin Nick up against a wall, and rescue their damsel in distress Amanda. What ensues is a true battle royale. Then, in a flashback, we learn that after Sonny surgically experimented on an injured Smoothie (and his eye), the Wishees spoke to him. They communicated Orcus’ message to Smoothie, and told him to meet Blue/Orcus in prison. That’s when Orcus got Smoothie on board with his plan to... kill Sonny. And back in the present, after Hailey ran away from her folks, she sought comfort in the very same Smoothie. This is getting... tangled. Happy spots the two together, and rushes back to tell Nick. To say the least, he’s not pleased. So he slams a bottle of Stoli, and prepares for all-out war.

A Friend of Death

Season 2 Episode Number: 16 Season Episode: 8

Originally aired: Wednesday May 15, 2019 Writer: Brian Taylor Director: Wayne Yip Show Stars: Christopher Meloni (Nick Sax), Ritchie Coster (Francisco Scaramucci / Mr. Blue), Lili Mirojnick (Meredith McCarthy), Medina Senghore (Amanda Hansen), Patrick Fischler (Smoothie), Christopher Fitzgerald (Sonny Shine), Bryce Lorenzo (Hailey Hansen), Patton Oswalt (Happy (voice)) Guest Stars: Ashlie Atkinson (Ace), J.Stephen Brantley (Trucker #1), Dwelvan David (Odipo), Britt Faulkner (Secretary), Jim Ford (Mob Hospital Medic #2), Joe Giorgio (Cop), Tiffany Denise Hobbs (Nurse), Anthony Mecca (Cop #2), Lee R. Sellars (Kap Gostynski), Roya Shanks (Executive Vice President Blythe), Derrick Simmons (Mob Hospital Medic #1), Paul Tawczynski (Restaurant Manager), Jonathan Tindle (Chairman), De- shawn Wyatte (Cop #1) Summary: Smoothie + Hailey take a trip into the past. Sax hits rock bottom. Good thing Happy brought a cake.

Last we saw Nick, he was under a pile of dead men, that he created we should mention, and crawling his way out. Someone must have called the cops, because they show up at the pad with guns drawn. Nick handily knocks them both out, and steals their whip. Did this just become a Grand Theft Auto mission? Happy turns co-pilot and shows Nick the way to the facility where Smoothie’s keep- ing Hailey. Upon arrival, Nick batters down the door. Unfortunately, Smoothie catches wise, and detonates the building before Nick can snoop around any further. After escaping the burning building, Nick gets ambushed by a bunch of cops that arrived to the scene. But not before he gets a call from Hailey telling him she no longer wants anything to do with him. Which one hurts more? Tough call. Merry takes an unscheduled meeting with the TV network exec (those are rare!) and tells him to cancel the Easter Special before catastrophe strikes. She says she has the blackmail tape of him committing heinous acts, and that she’ll destroy it if he pulls the plug. He’s not buying it. Smoothie takes Hailey to a diner in his backwoods hometown. While he takes a tinkle in the bathroom, Hailey overhears the two men sitting next to her discussing someone who could definitely have been Smoothie 30 years ago. They say that, when this freak was a kid, he castrated himself and put his manhood in a jar for all the Science Fair attendees to see. Just for the heck of it. Yup, sounds like Smoothie. In the bathroom, Smoothie is approached by Orcus. Well, not approached so much as ad- dressed through the glory hole in the partition between their stalls. Orcus is concerned that Hai- ley won’t be ready to kill Sonny Shine on live television during the Easter special — so Smoothie’s been grooming Hailey. Makes (sick) sense. Smoothie says she will be, and they leave it at that. Then, the flush.

35 Happy! Episode Guide

Smoothie takes Hailey back to his childhood home, where his adoptive mother is in the middle of an episode (and not of TV). She hasn’t seen him with his pink eye yet, so it’s startling to say the least. Smoothie then takes Hailey up to his old room where she’s to stay until further notice. But she grows restless: She wants to put an end to Sonny’s reign of terror now, by landing him in jail. Smoothie says slow down, child. If he lets her in with Sonny alone, she might never come back out. And if she does, it’ll be irrevocably changed. So this sicko is having some second thoughts. And in the hoosegow, the whole precinct plays whack-a-mole with Nick Sax, one of their ex- brothers. Merry drops in at the last crime scene, and uses her wiles to seduce the chief. Merry wants to see Nick Sax set free, and this one can help her get there. Later the chief drops in to Nick’s cell, Tasers the inmate, bags his head, and takes him to Merry, who springs him so that together they can link up to go find Amanda. At the Shine estate, Orcus is playing OBGYN with Amanda and her half-Wishee child. He’s practically gushing over the prospect! But not gushing nearly as much as Amanda’s broken water. It’s time, and they rush her to the hospital. After commiserating about their fraught childhoods, Smoothie and Hailey do a dance to some jukebox music for all the guests at this podunk restaurant to see! How many vomit bags does this place have to offer? At the network, Sonny addresses the board, and expresses how happy (show title!) he is in anticipation of the upcoming Eggtacular. They, in turn, tell him it’s been canceled. What about the TV president, you ask? Oh, he killed himself after his blackmail tape leaked. After their little Dirty Dancing number, Smoothie takes Hailey into the woods to meet his father. Smoothie told her that his father abused him and his mother, and that he needs to pay. So Smoothie brought him into the woods to kill him, and prove to Hailey that violent justice is sometimes called for. Only problem is, this guy isn’t Smoothie’s dad. He’s just an unlucky SOB Smoothie’s making an example of. After witnessing this guy’s death, Hailey is finally ready to kill Sonny Shine. After Merry and Nick bust in to the hospital to try to spring Amanda free, they’re ambushed by a naked Wishee. It engorges Nick, before Merry is able to toss Nick a shotgun and he blows his way out of the pink mess. But don’t worry, there’s plenty more Wishee where that came from. Right, Amanda?

Originally aired: Wednesday May 22, 2019 Writer: Ashley Michel Hoban Director: Show Stars: Christopher Meloni (Nick Sax), Ritchie Coster (Francisco Scaramucci / Mr. Blue), Lili Mirojnick (Meredith McCarthy), Medina Senghore (Amanda Hansen), Patrick Fischler (Smoothie), Christopher Fitzgerald (Sonny Shine), Bryce Lorenzo (Hailey Hansen), Patton Oswalt (Happy (voice)) Guest Stars: Johnny Weir (TV Reporter), Antonia Rey (Assunta Bianchi), Kerry Flanagan (Rita), Tiffany Denise Hobbs (Nurse), Garth Kravits (Doc- tor), Daniel Chase (Punk #1), Devon Moyd (Punk #2), Dwelvan David (Odipo), Roya Shanks (Executive Vice President Blythe), Jonathan Tin- dle (Chairman), Mariana Cardenas (Executive 1), Jim Ferris (Exec #2), Pearl Thomas (Executive 3), Katie Wylie (Daughter), Diana Ruppe (Mother), Meredith Salenger (Antonia de Sica), Aixa Kendrick (Strange Woman), Emma Factor (Jenna), Laura Darrell (Sister Lee), Jamaal Burcher (Bell Boy) Summary: Amanda’s blessed day arrives. Sax and Amanda will have to play Smoothie’s game to get to Hailey.

Feels like just last week Amanda was in the hospital, her legs up in the stirrups, and a half-Wishee baby about to pop out of her and fly straight into Orcus’ beelze- bubian bosom. Oh wait, that’s right now. When Amanda finally does pull through, she gives birth not to a child, but to a clutch of tiny Wishee embryos. They look like Gobstoppers. While Orcus is mar- veling at the future progeny, Amanda gets her strength back, takes one of her oxy- gen tanks, lights it on fire, and inciner- ates 99% of the Wishee embryos. Bad ass. After that, she sets the Wishees and Orcus on fire. Things are heating up. After escaping from the disco inferno, Orcus meets Sax and Merry in the hallway. He uses his telepathy to control Nick’s shotgun... and blow away several innocent doctors and nurses. That’s when Happy shows up and works his magic on Orcus, who can see him. Under Happy’s spell, Orcus makes everyone in the hallway start making out. It’s kinda hot. In a sexy way, not in an exploding oxygen cannister way. Even Sax and Merry feel the love, and start getting it on too. That is until Orcus runs away, Happy gets distracted, and Nick tosses Merry into the nearest elevator. For her own good. Fast forward a few hours, and Sonny is in the hospital despairing of his ruined Eggstrava- ganza, and all the dead Wishees. But Orcus gives him a pep talk. For at that very moment, a troupe of Orcus’ ex-cons breaks into a TV executive board meeting and raises Cain. After applying enough muscle, Orcus’ henchmen take over the set, in preparation for Sonny’s show. Meanwhile, Smoothie has put Hailey up in a fancy hotel in advance of her big day as a child assassin. But she starts getting second thoughts when she’s asked to take a picture of a mom and

37 Happy! Episode Guide daughter in front of a plushie Easter Bunny. Also, Mother Bianchi is visited by Orcus in prison, and he uses his power to make her kill herself with her own needles. He’s sending a message to all the nuns that are bent on his demise. And also to all amateur knitters, apparently. Mother Bianchi left her personal affects in the care of Merry, who picks them up from the prison. In the box she finds a receipt from a pawn shop. Could be a clue. Merry also gets to keep Bianchi’s ashes. Little morning protein shake. When Merry goes to cash in the receipt at the pawn shop, she gets hit on the back of the head with a blackjack, and passes out. When she wakes up, she’s surrounded by some strange, occult task force battling the old gods and their last grasp at power. She’s initiated into the crew, after they stick a smoldering orb in her hand, and brand her. Amanda and Sax get a call that Hailey is back at school, and that they should come pick her up lickity split. Turns out, it was a set up. Smoothie’s the only one at the school. He knows Sax can’t kill him, because he needs to know where Hailey is. But Amanda has no qualms about beating the loving sh*t out of the guy. They throw him in the back of the taxi, and hit the road. Smoothie directs Amanda and Nick to his makeshift lab, and offers them a wager: he will tell them where Hailey is, but first Amanda has to poison Nick with a shot to the buttocks. At the hotel, Hailey gets a visit from Orcus, now the bellhop. He brings her some pre- assassination appetizers on a tray. Then he dashes, and lets her dine. And Hailey’s last meal? A pistol, a Sonny Shine All-Access pass, and some tater tots.

Resurrection

Season 2 Episode Number: 18 Season Episode: 10

Originally aired: Wednesday May 29, 2019 Writer: Brian Taylor Director: Brian Taylor Show Stars: Christopher Meloni (Nick Sax), Ritchie Coster (Francisco Scaramucci / Mr. Blue), Lili Mirojnick (Meredith McCarthy), Medina Senghore (Amanda Hansen), Patrick Fischler (Smoothie), Christopher Fitzgerald (Sonny Shine), Bryce Lorenzo (Hailey Hansen), Patton Oswalt (Happy (voice)) Guest Stars: Jeff Goldblum (God), Jeffrey Ross (Twigs (voice)), Christopher Carley (Jessup), Dwelvan David (Odipo), Mariana Cardenas (Executive 1), Jim Ferris (Exec #2), Pearl Thomas (Executive 3), Brian Hastert (ER Doc- tor), Shannon Harris (ER Nurse), Kimberly Magness (Void Angel), Mag- gie Weston (Void Goddess), Tonya Canady (Juvi Cop), Griffin Reese (Kid), Annie Meisels (Mom), Collin Smith (Mannequin (voice)), Roya Shanks (Executive Vice President Blythe), Phoebe Amirault (Audience Kid), Peter Angelinas (Store Clerk), E.J. Carroll (Jelly), Aidan Christ- man (Show Attendee), Kerry Flanagan (Rita) Summary: Sonny broadcasts his Easter Eggtacular; Sax, Amanda and Happy try desperately to rescue Hailey from meeting a terrible fate.

Amanda had injected Nick’s derriere with some kind of poison while Smoothie watched (and was probably in seventh heaven). Well, it didn’t kill Nick, just ad- dled his brains. Smoothie needs Nick alive. For what? To break his spirit. He locks Amanda up, and takes Nick to the Eggstravaganza. Speaking of the Eggstravaganza, Hai- ley is there as well, and when she arrives is escorted by security past the line for the plebs, and into the VIP green room, where she is met by Orcus. Of course, Or- cus didn’t pitch the Hailey addition idea with Sonny in the development stage, so now he’s got to win over the prima donna. After some sweet-talking, it’s a go! Sonny’s on board. Meanwhile, Amanda gets to watch the whole show from inside a locked observation booth. It’s not the best seat in the house, but it’s also not crowded. She’s locked in there with Happy, who makes a getaway through the keyhole, and somehow unlocks the plates inside, opening the door in the process. That’s Amanda’s cue to break out. And Smoothie’s taken Nick to watch the magic from closer to the stage. Nothing like comps. This is all part of Smoothie’s plan to ruin Nick: make him watch his daughter kill Sonny. That’s when Hailey takes the stage and sings her song to the packed house. It’s like if Sia wrote a Disney tune, and gave it to a girl way too young to understand what it means to sing. Either way, she captivates the audience. That’s when the unexpected happens. Sonny inserted some undiscussed material into the show: a gun-toting bunny who terrorizes the audience. It’s all part of Sonny’s ploy to make himself the hero.

39 Happy! Episode Guide

Happy shows up, finds Nick, and tries to jolt him from his stupor. So, he cracks open an imaginary cold one, and pours it down Sax’s gullet. Because Sax believes in Happy, and all that Happy does and is, the beer becomes real too. Thing is: alcohol will dilute the poison in Sax’s system and turn him into the functioning inebriate we’ve all come to love. Back to Sonny, after vanquishing the bad Easter bunny, he takes things way too far, and opens the Easter bunny’s head with a sledge hammer. That’s one way to crack an egg. The kids love it. But then Hailey makes her second entrance of the day, this time with her co-star: a loaded handgun. Amanda and Nick are on-stage to try to discourage her from pulling the trigger. It doesn’t work — she’s out for vengeance. She lets fly a bullet in Sonny’s direction. That’s when Nick takes a running leap and stops the bullet with his chest. So Amanda has to finish the job: She opens fire on Sonny just as he steps downstage to greet his fans. This totally screwed with Orcus’ and Smoothie’s plans. Nick’s on the out, and a team of SWAT swarm the building and arrest Amanda. Nick has been sent to the Great Beyond, where there is a harem of women that just wants to pleasure him. He’s OK with that. But Orcus shows up and reminds Nick that Smoothie is out there running free. That complicates Nick’s plans. Orcus brings Nick back to life, on the condition that he now owns his soul. Done deal. And Amanda’s been sent to prison for first degree murder. So, Hailey is commended into the care of Merry, who’s now with that cult task force, if you remember. Happy, meanwhile, is having a time. With Nick dead (so he thinks), Hailey not believing in him anymore, all the children dejected past the point of imaginary friends, and Bo Peep losing her sheep all over town, he’s ready to give up. Happy soars into the sky and talks to God, who gives him a pep talk. Six months later, Nick is recuperated, and has dropped in at Smoothie’s house to put an end to their relationship. He gives Smoothie’s head one twist for every twisted thing he ever did to Hailey.
