The game stayed scoreless in the second half until Richard Rehs of 1st SOPS passed the defenders and put one past the goalie, for a 1-0 lead. Jason Braun scored on a penalty kick to put 1st SOPS up by two and finish the game. “We played a lot better than last week,” said 1st SOPS coach Dan Lee. “We had the numbers and took advan- tage going up the sides.” In the second game of the day, 50th CPTS took on the Joint National Integration Center and prevailed 3-1, but not before trailing the JNIC in the first half after a goal by the JNIC’s Jeremy Tafoya. A pep talk during halftime and an aggressive attack in the second half put 50th CPTS on the path to their victory. Jason Golaboski scored midway through the half to tie the game. Stephen Reichel scored shortly thereafter on a penalty kick to put 50th CPTS up by one and fol- lowed up with another goal with four minutes left in the game to seal the score at 3-1. The team members are still getting to know each other, according to 50th CPTS’ Danny Cowell. “Once we figure out how to play with each other, we’ll be better,” he said. “But we enjoy it, and that’s the key.” Satellite Flyer Satellite Flyer 14 May 24, 2007 www.schriever.af.mil www.schriever.af.mil May 24, 2007 15 Photo by Staff Sgt.
