Andorra offers you several fascinating routes through more than a millennium of history. Winter is a good time to enjoy the country's culture, while the monuments and sculptures are enveloped by white landscapes, making them even more idyllic.
We'd like to point you in the direction of a route on which you'll enjoy the contrasts between Romanesque architecture and more modern works that demonstrate Andorra's evolution over time.

This route begins in Canillo, with a visit to the church of Sant Joan de Caselles, a Romanesque architectural work from the 11th-12th centuries. At the foot of the temple sits a museum dedicated to two wheels, where you'll discover the history of the motorcycle. Next, we suggest heading to the Sanctuary of Meritxell; a modern religious temple that recreates the Romanesque era, full of symbolism for the Andorran people.
Continuing along the route, you arrive at the village of Encamp, where the next stop will see you finding out more about the inhabitants of the valleys. We suggest popping into Casa Cristo, a house museum that will transport you back into the past.
In the afternoon, head to the more central areas of Andorra. In Escaldes-Engordany, you can't
1/4 miss the Carmen Thyssen Museum; a place to enjoy more representative works of art. Close by, pay a visit to the curious Font del Roc del Metge. The water from this source springs at 70 ° C and is the same water you'll find in the famous Caldea Thermal Spa. If you decide to go to Andorra la Vella, don't miss the sculpture of Calidea and the Lady of Ice, especially attractive during the coldest days in winter, when the ice flows through the figure.
End the day by strolling through Andorra la Vella's old town centre, while discovering fascinating places like Casa de la Vall. This building, former headquarters of the General Council of Andorra, is perhaps the most emblematic monument in the whole of the Principality. Right next to it, in contrast, sits the building housing the new Parliament, the result of the political evolution the Principality has experienced.
