They are kept in bondage by some combination of physical, financial and psychological constraints for the purpose of sexual Eexploitation, commercial sex acts or labor exploitation. The U.S. Department of State estimates that 14,500 to 17,500 people are trafficked into the United States each year. They are children and adults, females and males, and include those of all races and ethnicities. People aren’t like drugs that only yield one sale; traffickers can use people over and over again for money.
