Selig set a new personal record in the heptathlon with 5,180 points. The Lincoln Lutheran graduate also captured the Huskers’ first NCAA Outdoor provisional qualifying mark of the season. Selig had her best performance of the weekend in the 800 meters, clocking a time of 2:13.66 for 912 points. She started off the meet with a great run in the 100-meter hurdles, as well, going a wind-aided 14.56 for 901 points. Senior Casey Thom finished sixth in the men’s gold division of the decathlon. Thom set Nebraska Track and Field a new career best with 7,292 points, which also provisionally qualified him for the 2003 NCAA Qualifying Standards NCAA Outdoor Championships.
