In 1946, Margann married Michael Fitzpatrick, and came to the Kingston area in the early 1950's, deciding to settle in Sydenham, Ontario. Michael had accepted a faculty position with the Department of Geology at Queen's University, and with her distinctive flare, Margann started a successful interior design firm. Examples of her work are still evident in some of the finer homes of Kingston today. A lover of good food and great wine, she was a warm and generous hostess who loved to cook and entertain, a tradition she carried on with her late second husband, Arthur Brebner. Over the years, Margann travelled extensively throughout the world and more recently enjoyed many spring holidays in Orvieto, Italy. During her retirement years, she studied Italian and loved spending time in her beautiful perennial garden. An animal lover and humanitarian, Margann was supportive to many people and a benefactor to many charities. A gathering of friends and family will take place at the Kingston Yacht Club, 1 Maitland Street, on Monday August 5th from 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kingston Humane Society would be greatly appreciated .
