Josep Jordi Grau Saula, better known by his stage name Irie Souljah, was born in Calella (Barcelona - Spain) in 1991. From an early age he showed great musical talent. He began singing from the age of 2 and was playing the guitar by age 4. His interest continued into adolescence when he decided to move away from music to take a new road. Thankfully his mother he realised his destiny was to find success using his voice and guitar.

The influence of listening to black music at home and attending parties where the upbeat rhythms were king , led him to form his first band in 2008 - Soldiers. The band went on to be called Mystic Souldiers from 2010 and published their EP Showcase, in collaboration with producer Roberto Sánchez.

However, realizing he couldn’t achieve the professional goals and perfectionism he desired, he began to think about a journey towards Jah – towards the roots. At around the same time, producer and documentary filmmaker Nando García - Guereta , resident in Kingston for more than ten years, and Executive Director of Nice Time Productions noticed Irie Souljah’s potential and invited him to spend some time in . It was after this experience that Irie Souljah made the decision to leave everything behind and move to the island permanently at the beginning of 2014.

He received a warm welcome from the Jamaican music community and recognition from big names like Sly & Robbie, Flabba Holt , Robbie Lynn and guitarist Earl Chinna Smith, who he spent time and jammed with. He also developed a strong friendships with many of the new stars of the scene dubbed ‘Reggae Revival’ such as , Jesse Royal, Kabaka Pyramid, , with who he shares beliefs, concerns, an outlook on life and love of music.

After a short time he began to make a name for himself in Jamaica, with appearances on numerous stages and in the media, as well as in Europe, which he toured with star ‘Cocoa Tea’ in June 2015. It was during these shows that the pieces of his debut began to come together, including his first single Learn and Grow - the video for which has proved a great success.

His debut album Immigrant was recorded entirely in Jamaica by Nice Time Productions and was released in November 2015. It contains ten tracks and three dub versions, all written and produced by Irie Souljah with collaborations with artists such as Kabaka Pyramid and Jesse Royal.

In the summer of 2017 he has presented the single Dreader than dread, co-written and co-produced by Kabaka Pyramid.
