REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE

The subject files and some of the serials held by the headquarters of the Republican National Committee's Western Division have been at Northwestern University Library since 1938. Many of the files contain information leading to the 1936 Republican National Convention held in Cleveland. An original list of the complete office files of the Chicago headquarters of the committee is included in the collection; however, only a portion of that material is held by Special Collections. How this collection was dispersed and then housed at Northwestern is unknown. The following register keeps the alphabetical order of topics and authors inherant in the collection. Serials are then listed separately. The few items cataloged for the general collection are so noted. For some additional information about the 1936 Republican National Convention, see the Dawes Collection, box 246.
