Due to the fact that in recent years, the development of rail transport is of interest to planners, MAPNA is ready and eager to carry out railway projects by manufacturing freight / passenger locomotives and providing full maintenance services at every level. Projects The train was on time… Qom Monorail

The contract for construction of Qom City Monorail, the first monorail in Iran, was signed in 2008 between Qom Urban Train Organization and a MAPNA/Kayson Consortium. With five stations and length of 2.6 kms, this project includes fleet design, testing, commissioning, and executing construction operations in form of a turnkey project (EPC).

Tehran-Mashhad Railway Electrification Project

With 50 stations and a length of 926 kms, -Mashhad Railway is the busiest line in Iran and one of the few double-track railways of the country. Electrification will maximize feasible speed along this route from the current 160 km/h to 200 km/h. The railway is predicted to carry an annual number of 33 million passengers and 10 million tons of freight per year by 2032. This number of passengers and load of freight will put Tehran- Mashhad railway on the list of top ten most commuted railway in the world.

The project will be carried out in two phases under an EPCF contract. The first portion of the project contains railway electrification, procurement of locomotives and machinery, and integration services. The second portion mainly focuses on civil tasks, including upgrading and rehabilitation of the existing track to increase rail speed, construction and development of stations, procurement of passenger coaches and maintenance machinery for infrastructure.

Power Supply for Northern Part of Line 3

This project entails a complete diverse range of services from design/engineering to installation/ commissioning and training as well as supplying spare parts and after-sales services for northern part of Tehran metro line 3 power supply systems. Tehran Urban & Suburban Railway Operation Co. is the client of this project.

Isfahan Metro

In the Isfahan Metro Line 1 project, MAPNA Group carries out design, engineering, procurement, transportation, installation, commissioning, preparation of engineering documents, personnel training ,procurement of spare parts and guarantee for power supply, SCADA, signaling and telecommunication systems. The length of Isfahan Metro Line 1 is 21 kilometers. The main part of the route is underground and inside a double track tunnel, the other part is in two single line tunnels and about 600 meters is also in open track which has been implemented by U-wall. The employer of this project is Isfahan Urban Railway Organization.

Karaj Metro Line 2

In Metro Line 2 project, MAPNA Group carries out design, engineering, procurement of main equipment and spare parts, transportation, installation, test and commissioning, preparation of engineering documents, and personnel training for electrical and mechanical equipment. The length of the route is about 23 km with 23 stations. The client of the project is Karaj Urban and Suburban Railway Organization.

Tehran Metro Line 6

In Tehran Metro Line 6, the scope of project includes design, engineering, procurement of main equipment and spare parts, transportation, installation, test and commissioning, preparation of engineering documents, and personnel training for operation. The length of the route is about 31 km with 27 stations. The client of the project is Tehran Urban and Suburban Railway Company.

Iran Safir Locomotives

We are proud to be the first Iranian company to acquire the technology of manufacturing diesel-electric passenger locomotives and related spare parts in Iran. After establishment of a modern factory, we have supplied and manufactured 150 Iran Safir locomotives (under license of Siemens) for Iranian Railway. Iran Safir locomotives have been designed for maximum operating speed of 160 Km/h.

MAP24 Locomotive

The MAP24 Locomotive is a 3,000 horsepower diesel-electric locomotive designed for freight transportation. The locomotive is equipped with a turbocharged 16-cylinder diesel engine that develops a nominal 3,000 horsepower at a maximum speed of 904 RPM. The main generator converts this mechanical energy into alternating current electrical power, which is in turn rectified to direct current for using by DC traction motors. Thanks to its modular concept, all necessary adaptations to fulfill even the most demanding climatic conditions can be easily installed. The locomotives are equipped with a microprocessor-based control unit (so-called LCU), EP brake system and a desktop driver’s control console, so that the operator can make advantage of such locomotives with better performance in different application criteria and climatic conditions.

Tunnel Locomotive

Aware of the demand in underground rail construction industry, MAPNA Locomotive Engineering and Manufacturing Company has been manufacturing tunnel locomotives. Tunnel locomotive is a type of locomotive used in construction of subway tunnels to transport equipment, raw material, muck, concrete segments and personnel. Compared to conventional rail lines which have a slope of 30 per thousand, tunnel tracks have a slope of 55 per thousand. Thus, traction and brake power of the locomotive are of utmost importance. Space limitations inside the tunnel necessitate use of locomotives with compact dimensions that could move through the rail track with convenience. These locomotives can be used for construction of water tunnels. MAPNA Group’s tunnel locomotives are designed and produced in two versions of hydrodynamic and hydrostatic power transmission system.

Railbus Maintenance

Eram railbuses are lightweight trainsets used in suburban areas and for distances of around 200 kms. The trains can traverse an overall range of 1000 kilometers per day. MAPNA Railway Operation Development and Maintenance Company (MRM) offers repair, maintenance, and navigation services for Eram Railbus that belong to Iran’s Raja Rail Transportation Company.

Iran Safir Locomotive Full Service Maintenance

Carried out by MAPNA Railway Operation Development & Maintenance Company, the assignment includes repair and maintenance of 150 Iran Safir locomotives. The operation will be carried out by MAPNA Group for a five-year term. The scope of the services includes procurement of spare parts and execution of all required repair, etc.

Rehabilitation of 50 Alstom AD43C Locomotives

MAPNA Group won the tender for rehabilitation of 50 locomotive units of Iranian Railway in January 2017. The project includes rehabilitation, commissioning, maintenance, and operation of 50 units of Alstom locomotives. The locomotives will be rehabilitated and prepared for operation during a five-year time span, and their ownership will be transferred to MAPNA after ten years of operation by MAPNA Railway Maintenance and Operation Development Company. Eventually, 50 Alstom diesel-electric locomotives, each with a power of 4000 HP, will return to Iran’s traction fleet. The project helps MAPNA Group to expand its freight operation business in Iran’s rail industry.

Rehabilitation of GT26 Locomotives

This project includes rehabilitation of GT26CW locomotives and aims to rehabilitate old freight locomotives inside Iran and to improve the national rail fleet. The client of the project is Islamic Republic of Iran Railways.

MAPNA Railway Fleet Development Company was established to carry out the rehabilitation project for 50 Alstom locomotives.
