Sub: Submission of application for Amendment of Environmental Clearance for utilization of waste (Lime Kankar - part of over burden) of 196896m3 produced in one year from Limestone Slabs (Black) located over an extent of 3.715Ha in Sy. No. 333/P, Palakur Village, Banaganapalli Mandal, , Andhra Pradesh.

Director of Mines & Geology, Kurnool vide Lr. No. 675/MMP-BVL/2019 dated 25.02.2019

With reference to the above, we would like to submit that we have obtained EC for Lime stone slabs (Black) mine vide Ref (3) cited above for production of Lime stone slabs of 44052 M.Tonnes/Annum

As per the EC obtained, the waste /OB generated (Lime Kankar ) from the mine will be stacked in the overburden dumps. A detailed study was carriedout on the mine which has indicated that this waste/OB generated in the form of white powder (lime kankar) which is available in 2-7 m depth has value addition as mineral and can be utilized in the cement industries. The total quantity of material is 196896m3 (white powder (lime kankar)). This material will be removed as part of overburden in the first one year of opening of the mine for production of slab stones of 44052 M.Tonnes/Annum

Considering the value addition and as per the recent OM of MoEFCC, we would like to obtain amendment in EC for utilization of waste (Lime Kankar) Sri S. Bhaskar Reddy, S/o. A. Nandi Reddy, Revanoor Village, Koilakuntla Mandal, Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh Mobile: 9490011843 as value added mineral. The proposal of utilization of waste (lime kankar) will also has the following environmental benefits

a. No need of waste dumping b. No double handling as material will be mined and sent directly to cement industries c. Reduce environmental load due to non dumping as waste d. Vacated area of waste dump will be developed as greenery

As per the statutory requirement, LOI was re-issued incorporating the waste (lime kankar) and accordingly mining plan has been modified for production and utlisation of waste (lime kankar).

As per the MoEFCC OM No. Z -11013 /49/2018-IA.II(M) dated 18.06.2018, we would like to obtain amendment in Environmental clearance for utilization of waste (lime kankar) of 196896m3 produced in the first year of mine operation which was earlier proposed for dumping.

As per Form – 4 format of MoEFCC specified for EC amendment, we are herewith submitting the following documents for consideration of our proposal:

a. Approved Mining Plan b. EMP for utilization of waste (Lime Kankar)

We request the Authority to process our proposal for amendment of Environmental Clearance for utilization of waste (lime Kankar) of 196896m3 produced from the mine in the first year of operation.
