FIRST YEAR FRESHMEN Candidates for admission to the freshman class must submit to the Admissions Office: 1. An official application 2. An official high school transcript* 3. Official SAT or ACT scores *Please submit additional college or university transcripts if college credit was received for dual-credit, and/or AP or IB classes and tests.

TRANSFER ADMISSIONS Transfer candidates must have completed 12 or more college credit hours. If less than 12 college credits have been earned, official high school transcript and test scores will be required. Candidates applying for transfer admission must submit to the Admissions Office: 1. An official transfer application 2. Official transcripts from every instituation attended 3. Transfer Clearance Form from the most recent college/ university attended.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS International candidates for admission must submit to the Admissions Office: 1. An official international application 2. Official secondary school transcript and diploma with certified English translation. 3. Official college or university transcript, if applicable. 4. Merit Scholarships: Merit based scholarships are determined for all students based on their academic performance. Scholarships range for $8,000 - $16,000.

Catholic High School Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who graduate from a Catholic High School outside of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston.

Swint Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who graduate from one of the six Catholic High Schools of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston.

Campion Athletic Scholarship: Athletic scholarships are offered by the athletic coach based upon the eligibility and talent of the student-athlete.

Endowments: Accepted students may be considered for these scholarships as funds are available.

Home of the Cardinals, Wheeling University is proud to have 20 Athletic Teams; 19 NCAA Division II teams and Men’s National Collegiate Rugby, Open Division, which provide students with additional ways to become involved on campus. Intercollegiate athletics is also a source of enthusiasm and pride for the entire University, as well as the greater Wheeling Community. Our athletes are not only successful in the classroom, but in competition - capturing a National Championship in volleyball and an NCAA DII Runner-up trophy in wrestling. In addition to athletics, clubs and organizations are another great way for students to stay engaged on campus, meet fellow classmates with similar interests, and gain leadership experience.
