Dear Friends of St. Aidan Parish and Blessed Francis Seelos Academy,

For the past 13 years, we enjoyed connecting with our Parish and School Families to celebrate our Annual Lenten Fish Fry. Last week Mike Cuddy and I had a Fish fry committee chair meeting. One of our main agenda topics was the decision made by the Pittsburgh Diocese for all Fish Fries to be TAKE-OUT ONLY. We all agree and support the decision. This will ensure that we can comply with the state regulation of social distancing. We plan to minimize or eliminate the time students and volunteers occupy the school at the same time. We also will need to limit menu items and adjust our processes to accommodate a safe preparation and distribution. I can assure you, we will still have the best fish dinner in the area.

We are offering 3 Protein items to choose from (Fried Fish, Baked fish and Shrimp), and they will each come with Mac & Cheese and Cole Slaw. To keep social distancing in the kitchen and serving line, we are not planning to serve desserts and soups, at least for now.

The To-Go service will be Curb side pickup only. No walk-in service or cash payment. The cost of the meal will be $10.00 and fish sandwich $10.50.

The attached sponsorship form on page 4, outlines the ways in which you can support our fish fry. If you wish to make a financial donation, advertise on a placemat, or sponsor a food item. Please complete the online form www.tinyurl.com/staidan-fishfry-2021 or contact Jama McCabe at [email protected] by January 29. These ads sell out very quickly each year, so don’t hesitate, sign up now!

Your donation will be acknowledged by a letter for your charitable donation/tax records.

Signup Genius will be available soon for those who want to volunteer.

Thanks and may God keep you safe and healthy,

Blessed Seelos Academy

Catholic Schools Week This year, Seelos Academy kicks off Catholic School’s Week with a prospective family Open House on Sunday, January 31 at the K-8 campus. The theme, Faith. Excellence. Service, will be incorporated into the many service projects students will participate in throughout the week. While this year looks a little different and many of our community-building activities have had to be cancelled or modified due to the pandemic, we look forward to celebrating the gift of Catholic education.

Please mark your calendar to join us on Wednesdays, beginning next Wednesday January 20 at 7:00 p.m. It will run for 13 weeks and covers unfolding teachings. These sessions are virtual using Zoom, and all you need to do is click on a link—that’s it! We will also have small break out group discussions following a short video presentation to get the most out of the teaching, and is led by a trained group facilitator. This spring session will also prepare us for a great Lenten journey.
