Currently he is lecturer of Landscape Architecture at Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED), International Islamic University Malaysia. He has taken part in the challenges of urban biodiversity and landscape ecological approach within urban living environment through research, teaching and learning, consultation, community and Ngo’s activities.
Recently, he has received the best paper awards in International conference (HOPE2017) working on community design and rural planning and design development. Other recognition from IIUM (IRIIE 2014) gold medal through his research on Birds as indicator of urban ecology. His interest has been gained since in master studies in Sheffield University, United Kingdom and PhD at University South Australia. Both universities were active on ecological and environmental knowledge and he has participate in few biodiversity projects. Currently, he conducting varieties research on flora and fauna as bio- indicator for healthy urban living and natural environment. He have received many research grant from government including FRGS, RAGS and RACE since received doctorate in 2012. He also have received award in the research convention organised by local universities and institutions. Bin Salleh HeKulliyyah is also of actively Engineering involved with the society through consultancy, teaching and learning activities. Locally he was involved in a few projects in IIUM Campus such as Mosque Square, AIKOL entrance design and IIUM entrance design. He have been invited to teach on landscape ecology in University Putra Malaysia. He also active in social activities such as provided blue print of village design, motivation talk with the children and youth. He has led many studies on environmental and resource planning especially in rural area such as surrounding area of Mount Jerai in Kedah, Lembah Bama in Kuala Lipis, Kota Lama in Johor Bahru, Bako National Park in Sarawak, Bukit Larut in Perak and fisherman village in Pangkor Island. Zainul is passionate about culture, ecology and environmental sustainability for which he was involved in rural, urban and regional development planning and landscape projects. In the future, Zainul will visit and explore all ecosystems exist in Malaysia and InsyaAllah the knowledge will be share and benefited the Ummah.
