On the 26th of February 2020, my friends and I in Year 4 went to to plant wild flowers. The flowers were planted to make the area behind the park nice and to attract bees. There were sticks with red tops to mark where we had to plant the flowers. We had taken trowels and ensured we were prepared well. First, we had to dig a hole and plant the flower bulb in to it. If the hole was too big we topped the hole with soil from a handy soil pot. Once finished, we pulled out the red marker and put it in the bin bag that Irenie provided. We all wanted to know what other work Irenie does and so she showed us an area full of seeds that had begun to bloom. Mrs Bruckshaw, my class teacher, took a photo of us all after we had worked really hard to support our community. As a treat, we got two sweets and got to play in the park. We had a wonderful time. On Wednesday 26th of February I went to Goldworth Park with some class friends to plant some wild flowers. We all had to dig a hole and put one of the flower bulbs in to it. Afterwards, we filled the hole with the soil that we were given; this was called top-soil. We kept planting until we ran out of flower bulbs. Once we had finished, we all had a chocolate and Mrs Bruckshaw took a photo of all of the year fours that took part. Irenie had informed us about her work in the community and showed us what they had worked on in November. The seeds she planted then are now tiny flowers and some will attract bees. Finally, we had to go back to school. By Reuben
