Educational School Trip to Hyderabad Classes 8 A Educational School Trip to Hyderabad Classes 8 A B C 7TH -12TH Jan The trip to Hyderabad was very relevant and an excellent choice for an educational tour, as Hyderabad is a repository of cultural excellence. Hyderabad is the capital of Andhra Pradesh: a city which is vibrant, historic and colourful. One can explore the Sudha Cars Museum, Salar Jung, Golconda Fort, Snow World and Ramoji Film City. On the first day was the trip to the Salar Jung Museum. The Salarjung museum is a one man’s collection of paintings, clocks, porcelain and weapons. It has a total of 36 galleries spread over 4 wings. There are 38 galleries in 3 blocks: 1. The Indian Block-The Indian Block had collection of art, painting, sculptures, manuscripts etc from different states of India. 2. The Western Block-The Western Block had art, marble sculptures, furniture and jade from England, Ireland, France, Austria and Italy. 3. The Eastern Block-The Eastern Block had Persian carpets, Chinese vases and sculptures from countries like China, Japan, Middle East and Burma. There were collections of art of 18th and 19th century. The Ramoji Film City is the largest film studio in the world. Ramoji Film City, a tribute to the bewitching magic of cinema, is the dream destination for entertainment and relaxation. The visit to the Ramoji Film Studio was a very relaxing outing for the entire day as it provided a plethora of activities, shows and film sets to be viewed and enjoyed .Spread over idyllic 2,500 acres and studded with hills, woods, lakes and striking architectural marvels, Ramoji Film City is one of Asia's fastest growing tourism destinations. The Golconda Fort is one of the most wonderful monuments, located 11 km. from Hyderabad, and the capital of Andhra Pradesh. The visit to the Golconda fort was spectacular; the Sound and Light show was very informative and brilliantly presented. The fort stands on an isolated granite hill. Three granite walls encircle the fort. There are eight gates in the outer wall. The unique feature of the fort is the deflection of sound. The fort has important monuments such as Diwan’s Palace, Jamay Masjid, Royal Palace, Baradari, Naya Quilla and Charminar. Golconda is famous in the world for its Kohinoor Diamond which weighs 106 carats. The trip to the Sudhcar museum The cars displayed at the museum were in all shapes and sizes and a sight to behold .The Sudha Cars Museum had many different types of cars, bikes, cycles, buses displayed which belonged to different eras and periods There was a football car, basketball car, brinjal car, golf car, joystick bike and many more. It was very interesting and fascinating experience. The Snow world was fantastic! The Snow world was a wonderland of sheer delight as all of us came down sledging down the white, snow covered slopes while temperatures soared outside. Our class trip was a mixture of fun as well as education, as we learned about the beautiful history of Hyderabad, and we got to see the amazing tourist attractions of this marvellous city also called the ‘city of pearls.’ Students’ Reflections “Our trip to Hyderabad was truly an enriching experience. It proved to be a learning experience, together with fun time with our classmates.” “These trips though generally fun filled are important and very educative and should never be taken lightly.” “Our trip to Hyderabad not only enhanced learning but also revealed to us, the secret magical ingredient of movie making.” “Our trip to Hyderabad was a memorable experience and enhanced our knowledge about a city that has a glorious past and a bright future.” “Hyderabad was like our lab for history practicals.”--- Vishaka Ramesh “The Golconda Fort with its A-MAZ-ING history added to the colours of our trip.” .

Hyderabad City: History & Tourism Hyderabad is the capital city of the state of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh of South India. The city was founded on the River Musi by Muham- mad Quli Qutab Shah in 1591. The city is located on the Deccan Plateau and it is the fifth largest city of India. This cosmopolitan city is richly endowed with a variety of cultures. The city presents an attractive amal- gam of old world charm together with new world of hi-technology. Hyderabad city has a history of nearly four hundred years. All its began with the establishment of the Qutub Shahi dynasty. Quli Qutub Golconda Fort Shah seized the reins of power from the Bahamani Kingdom in 1512 and established the fortress city of Golconda. The history of Golconda goes back to the Kakatiya Dynasty in 11th century when they built a mud fortress on a hill called Golconda. Inadequacy of water, and fre- quent epidemics of plague and cholera persuaded Mohammed, the fifth Quli Qutub Shahi ruler to ven- ture outward to establish the new city with the Charminar at its cen- ter and with four great roads fan- ning out in the four cardinal direc- tions. The capital of the city was Bhagyanagar, which named after a royal beloved Bhagyamati. As she Charminar became the wife of Quli Qutub Shah, the sultan bestowed the title of Hy- 1 der Mahal on Bhagmati and thus was born Hyderabad. The Qutub Shahi rulers were great builders and patrons of learn- ing. Mohamed Quli Qutub Shah built the mosque, whose construc- tion began in 1614 and Aurangazeb completed it in 1687.

HM Silhouette Cover_Apr2019-Approved.pdf 1 08/03/2019 16:41 Inflight magazine of Air Seychelles • January-March 2020 9401_New 9/5/19 5:30 PM Page 1 C M Y CM MY CY CMY K Composite [ CEO’S WELCOME ] Dear Guests, Welcome aboard! I am pleased to share the first edition of our inflight magazine for 2020, filled with fantastic milestones recorded over the past three months of 2019, which was also one of the busiest periods at Air Seychelles. Following the delivery of our first A320neo aircraft in August 2019, and after having successfully completed three months of flying, the operations control centre team conducted a survey to evaluate the general performance of the newest acquisition. Completing 410 sectors as from 6 August up to 4 December 2019 overall, the aircraft on average completed 100 flights per month, produced 20 percent fuel savings per flight, in addition to generating 50 percent reduced noise footprint and nitrogen oxides (NOx). This amazing result must not go unnoticed as the aviation industry globally is under considerable pressure over the issue of carbon emissions and its impact on climate change. Today, I am proud of the contribution Air Seychelles is making towards sustainable development and we cannot wait for the arrival of our second A320neo in April 2020. The exciting month of November 2019 was marked with the introduction of our new non-stop weekly service between Seychelles and Tel Aviv. Being onboard the inaugural Tel Aviv – Seychelles flight, which was 100 percent full and bearing witness to the excitement of the guests as they boarded the aircraft was definitely a historical milestone for the national airline.

Osmania University Centre for International Programmes International Seminar on “WHICH WAY THE HUMAN RIGHTS? TREATMENT OF CHILDREN, WOMEN, AND OLD PEOPLE IN INDIAN ENGLISH AND AMERICAN LITERATURES 17 – 19 December 2014 Osmania University Centre for International Programmes Osmania University Campus, Hyderabad – 500 007 (INDIA) Ph: +91-40-27098609, 27079914 Fax: +91-40-27070137 Website: www.oucip.in Email: [email protected], [email protected] 1 Call for Papers SEMINAR “WHICH WAY THE HUMAN RIGHTS? TREATMENT OF CHILDREN, WOMEN, AND OLD PEOPLE IN INDIAN ENGLISH AND AMERICAN LITERATURES CONCEPT NOTE The first half of the twentieth century was marked by conflicts, communist revolutions, and two wars. Millions of people died and many millions became homeless. There was rampant crime, violence, cruelty, torture-- perpetrated by the powerful over the powerless. Hunger, deprivation, destitution, fear death, murder, oppression and exploitation were the hallmarks of the times. None felt secure from the rampant inhuman misery inflicted upon humanity by human beings only. Man became the greatest enemy of man—the deadly beast devoid of sympathy, goodness, and grace—slouching over a vast terrain in search of the human blood. The basic human rights, especially of the old people, women, children and the poor, took a severe beating at the hands of such totalitarian perpetrators of random crime and violence. Man and women needed a guaranteed protection of their life, dignity, and integrity from the blood thirsty hounds of humanity. After the end of the Second World War and the creation of the United Nations, the international community strongly felt that the human rights to life, dignity, integrity, and to other necessary things for a meaningful survival needed to be preserved and propagated by rule of law.

It is the major urban centre for all of south-central interior India. From 1956 to 2014, Hyderabad was the capital of Andhra Pradesh state, but with the creaon of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh in 2014, it was redesignated as the capital of both states. The city was founded by the Qutb Shahi sultans of Golconda, under whom the kingdom of Golconda aained a posiHon of importance (second only to that of the Mughal Empire to the north). The old fortress town of Golconda had proved inadequate as the kingdom’s capital, and so in about 1591, Muhammad Qulī Qutb Shah - the fiVh of the Qutb Shahs, built a new city called Hyderabad on the east bank of the Musi River, a short distance from old Golconda. The Charminar, a grand architectural composiHon in Indo-Saracenic style with open arches and four minarets, is regarded as the supreme achievement of the Qutb Shahi period. It formed the centerpiece around which the city was planned. The Mecca Mosque, which was built later, can accommodate over 10,000 people. www.lodestarpropertymanagement.com Hyderabad Map Hyderabad city maps are not only useful for the tourists; but they are also useful for students and for every person who wants to get some informaon about the city.
