ROUTE SUMMARY

1. From the F stop on East Houston Street, go left onto First Avenue. 2. Walk right on East First Street. 3. Cross East Houston Street at Avenue A, and head west on Houston. 4. Go right on Bowery. Walk right on East First Street. 5. Go left on First Avenue. Proceed left on East Second Street. 6. Detour right on Second Avenue to the NYC Marble Cemetery, then resume walking west on East Second. 7. Go left on Bowery to the CBGB site, then turn around and head north. 8. Go right on East Third Street. 9. Go left on Avenue A. 10. Go left on East Fourth Street. 11. Go right on Bowery/Cooper Square. 12. Walk right on East Sixth Street. 13. Go left on Avenue A. 14. Travel left on East Seventh Street. 15. Cross Cooper Square to Astor Place. 16. Walk east on East Eighth Street/St. Mark’s Place. 17. Go left on First Avenue. 18. Walk left on East 10th Street. 19. Make a left on Stuyvesant Street. 20. Walk right on East Ninth Street, then left on Third Avenue, then right on East Eighth Street to the train.

CONNECTING THE WALKS

From the Astor Place station, walk west a block-plus on East Eighth Street to Broadway, then south seven blocks to Houston Street for the start of the next walk (C entral Greenwich Village. Or walk north about six blocks on Fourth Avenue to East 14th Street for the U nion Square tour (Walk 11).
