ORDER:
With a view to give legal status to the Patta Pass Book held by Pattadars, an Act called "Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1986)" has been enacted. In the Government Order first read above, certain provisions of the Patta Pass Book Act have been implemented in Thiruthani Taluk of Chengalpattu-MGR District and Kulithalai Taluk of Tiruchirapalli District in this State as an experimental measure with effect from 1.10.1987. The Government have now decided to implement all the provisions of the Act except Sections 5, 9, 15 and 23 to six selected districts in this State, namely Madurai, Chidambaranar, Coimbatore, Thanjavur, Tiruchirapalli except Kulithalai Taluk and North Arcot Ambedkhar Districts, covering 50 taluks with effect from 1.4.1993.

NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred bysub-section (3) of section 1 ofthe Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1986), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby appoints the first April 1993 as the date on which all the provisions of the said Act except sections 5, 9, 15, and 23 shall come into force in the areas specified below:-
