These books are so popular with girls-they love them-ideal for those readers who are moving up and also for readers who just want something magical to read amongst all the other information children have to absorb in this day and age. Jun 16, Chloe added it. It's about getting 3 things back from goblins and the 3 things Stella the Star Fairy Christmas star, glass ball and star. I liked the book because the goblin got confused about all the glass balls because Stella made more glass balls than just one and also one of the goblins was in his hut in goblin grotto and Stella, Kirsty and Rachel were peeking in the window and the goblin was relaxing in his chair. Jun 16, Priya Appleby rated it liked it. My overall review for the rainbow magic series These books were so magical to me as a child. They really got me into reading and I was so addicted. They helped me learn the colours of the rainbow and entertained me for several years. The books aren't very good. I've tried reading them again because I was interested in what I saw in them. The books are very similar and repetitive but to child version of me, they were completely perfect! Nov 28, Isabella Chong rated it it was amazing. In this vapid, pointless, one-of-a-million "value neutral" tale, two white middle-class girls have to interrupt their all important task of shopping for Christmas presents to help a bunch of fairies Stella the Star Fairy magical powers but not much ability to act independently, to locate some stolen artifacts. The artifacts then will restore middle-class Christmas for wealthy first-worlders in the "human world" being a value-free text, the universality of consumerist Christmas is assumed. I know, I know Except Stella the Star Fairy I expect more from a children's book - there ought to be at least some ethical content or problematising- hell even a plot twist would be something. So let's look again at the story. Why have these artifacts been stolen? Well it seems that the only reason for the theft is that mean, old Jack Frost is ugly and uncouth and in every way not like the pretty and well- dressed there is quite a lot of space devoted to describing Stella, which makes me wonder if dolls or figurines are marketed for each of these bland books. It's not necessary to write crap like this to make girls read, it is easy money but serves no useful purpose in a world where there are far, far better books available. Please don't give this to children you love. It doesn't even have characters, you could substitute Rachel for Kirsty or Kirsty for Rachel and not notice- the parents are cardboard cutouts and we learn nothing about the fairy except her outfit and the fact she is in charge of the narrowly conceived Christmas. Feb 12, Gloria Lee Yick Kwan rated it really liked it. Stella the Star Fairy can't keep Christmas bright and shiny without her Stella the Star Fairy magical tree decortions. So Rachel and Kirsty must help Stella Stella the Star Fairy keep the three tree decorations, because if that tree decorations isn't here, the season will be ruined for everyone.
