The sound quality is a little uneven (as to be expected from broadcasts nearly a century old) but in some ways that actually adds to the atmosphere. These shows have made my morning commute much more pleasant. And thanks to the inclusion of the original sponsor's commercials I know more about heating my home with anthracite blue coal than any of co-workers!

I bought this for my brother as a Christmas gift. When we were kids we used to travel from Boston to Delaware several times a year to visit family. We always drove at night, and my dad would find old radio shows like "The Shadow" to listen to. My brother and I hated to get to our destination because we wanted to keep listening! My brother loves this collection of CDs! I'm hoping he'll share and let me listen to them too!

These shows scare my wife. I have to listen while she isn't around. Great!

Thank you for this. I am really enjoying the stories. Do you have any more sets like this?

I was glad to find this. Sound quality is really good for a show of it's age. Actors are top-notch. These shows are an interesting peek into a time gone by. The packaging of the set is sturdy and comes with a booklet which lists the episodes and a brief synopsis for each, a few photos & anecdotes.

The only down side to these recordings was the sound level kept varying. Otherwise great cast and story lines.

I have been a SHADOW fan for over 70 years listening on the radio before we had a TV. And now that I have a portable CD player I will get to listen for another 70. I'm so much of a fan I've named 3 of my cats MARGO, LAMONT and SHADOW. THE SHADOW RULES. came quick , he loved it. sound qualitty was as good as you can expect since its from the 40s. gotta love orsen welles.
