2 Nurse Cyndi I was able to interview nurse Cyndi, our wonderful nurse. She

is very caring and has gone through many “medical adventures.” Recently, she was willing to share her “medical adventures” with me, these are some of the questions I asked her.

Q: How do you handle serious injuries/diseases? A: She uses a lot of

her nursing judgement, and she looks for small things like what they say to her, how they look, checking there temperature, and their vital signs. Sometimes she just knows the students well because she is K-6. So, some of these students she has known for years. Q: What is the worst injury you have ever encountered? A: She is also a camp nurse so she has seen some really bad things at camp. One of those things was when a counselor dove into a shallow pool and broke his neck, and somehow he walks. She said that was a miracle!

Q: What is your favorite medical tool? A: A stethoscope and thermometer.

Q: What is the worst injury/ disease that you have personally experienced? A: Next I asked her what her worst injury was, and she said she was walking down a path. It just started pouring rain. She then slipped on mud and it caused her to need surgery.

Q: Which is worse concussion or flu? A: She said concussion.

Q: What are some tips you have on playground safety? A: You have to look where you are going. Kids slam into each other and knock other people’s heads. She has seen broken arms. So, don’t push anybody and pay attention.

Q: Do you have any healthy food tips? A: She said that some people eat too much fast food. It is not healthy!

Q: What is the coolest thing you have experienced working at Coulson Tough? A: She loves the fact that she gets to work here because she can help people and make them happy. At a hospital things get very sad, and she would also get sad

We use to do everything together. Now everything is messed up because of one little misunderstanding. We were best friends. We played together at recess. We talked when we were not supposed to, and the thing I miss the most is we shared our secrets and memories. I cry at night because of how much I miss her. What should I do?
