A MESSAGE FROM THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE

Dear Friend:

Now that the warmer weather is here, and the ice and snow of winter are just a distant memory, it’s time to throw open the doors and venture out into Essex County to enjoy the variety of outdoor activities and cultural experiences that will stimulate and inspire people of all ages and interests.

Throughout the summer, come visit our historic Parks System, for evenings of fun, family entertainment. You can dance, groove, swing and sway to a diverse musical line-up and wonder at our spectacular fireworks displays in parks throughout the County. The sounds of summer include Doo Wop, Rock N Roll, Latin, Jazz and much, much more. So, bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy our free concerts under the stars! If out-of-doors movies are more to your liking, bring your chairs and blankets to Essex County Kip’s Castle, or to the top level of the new Parking Deck at Essex County Turtle Back Zoo, for an old-fashioned “drive-in” experience.

Use the pages of this newsletter as your guide to uncover the many exciting events happening throughout our community. You can choose among a multitude of enlightening and entertaining opportunities found in the concert halls, art galleries, playhouses, museums and theaters in Essex, for a wonderful summer adventure

Together, we will continue Putting Essex County First.

Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. Essex County Executive and the Board of Chosen Freeholders
