Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association Newsletter • FALL 2020 President’s Message In it’s 59th year, the Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association, once again, prepares to promote and enhance the experience for basketball coaches across the Commonwealth. As we approach the upcoming season, we clearly face potential changes and a great deal of uncertainty. The input and support of our membership will be called upon in the next few months---and we are looking forward to working with you. In the last year, improved communication opportunities were prioritized by our executive board. The use of district and league representatives were reintroduced to allow for more localized communication. Additionally, our board members organized district meetings to make important connections and provide opportunities for direct communication among the coaches in our areas. These communication opportunities will certainly become increasingly significant as we approach the 2020-2021 season. You can expect to hear from your local board members in the next few months. I encourage you to become a member and get involved in our association’s work. Our meeting dates will now be posted on our website (www.mbcaorg.com) and twitter (@mbcaorg). These sites will also include important information regarding nomination forms, upcoming events, as well as the history of high school basketball in our state. Please consider joining our association through our membership discount package. It’s an excellent way to get your entire staff involved with the MBCA. It has been my pleasure to serve as the MBCA President. I am once again looking forward to working alongside the outstanding coaches across our state. Please do not hesitate to contact me. I am looking forward to another successful year. Sincerely, Rick Grady Dover-Sherborn Boys Basketball Coach MBCA President MBCA - 2019 Recognition Awards Breakfast , The MBCA’s annual Senior Breakfast was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
