______ANNOUNCING MULLEN HIGH SCHOOL’S NEW PRINCIPAL – Effective June 1st, 2018 –

Dear Members of the Mullen High School Community,

I am very pleased to inform you the search for a new principal is concluded. With enthusiasm, I introduce Jeffrey M. Howard as the next Principal of Mullen High School! Jeff is an exceptionally thoughtful, organized and effective leader with classroom and administrative experience combined with a strong and active Catholic faith.

Jeff Howard has devoted his 25-year career to Catholic education at the high school level, rising from classroom teacher to department chair, administrator and national director. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education from the Catholic University of America and his Master’s Degree in Creative Writing from . Jeff began his teaching career in Washington, DC, at Bishop McNamara High School, a school in the Holy Cross tradition. He returned to his native and his alma mater in ​ ​ 1994 as an English teacher. Over a 20-year period, Jeff served in many administrative roles including Assistant Principal for Faculty and Curriculum for the Girls Division and Acting Principal for the Boys Division. Since 2014, Jeff has been Vice President and Director of Ignatian Mission Formation for the Jesuit Schools Network, providing consultation, workshops, facilitation and in-service programs for leaders in Catholic schools worldwide.

Jeff and his wife Caroline, a Catholic High School teacher, reside in Aurora and are the parents of three college-aged children: Ian, Matthew, and Kateri.

We are confident Jeff will build upon the strengths of our school as we evolve into this new phase of leadership. I also wanted to thank the Principal Search Committee and Catholic School Management for their time, dedication and wisdom. Thank you for all your prayers during this process!
