Auf Basis der jeweils besten 3 Wettkämpfe des Jahres 2016 gewann im Zehnkampf der Götzis-Sieger des Jahres 2015 Kai Kazmirek mit 25.221 Punkten gefolgt von Jeremy Taiwo / USA (24.928) und Adam Sebastian Helcelet / CZE (24.498). Im Siebenkampf konnte sich mit der deutschen Athletin Carolin Schäfer die 3. des diesjährigen Hypomeetings mit 19.573 Punkten den Sieg in der IAAF Challenge Wertung sichern.
