A 2005 graduate of Mira Mesa High School in San Diego, Padilla is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Padilla is married to the former Brandi Jones, who is an assistant coach with the SDSU women’s lacrosse team. The couple resides in San Diego with their two sons.

In 2012, Rachel Boaz (2011-12) surrendered 14 goals in 2,102:53 minutes of action and in doing so set the San Diego State women’s soccer record for goals against average in a season at 0.60.

That year, she and her teammates posted a 21-2-1 record, authored Mountain West regular-season and tournament championships, reached the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament as a No. 2 seed and finished the year ranked No. 7/7/3 in the nation according to NSCAA/Soccer America/Soccer Times polls. In addition, Boaz equaled the record for shutouts in a season with 11, equaling Sophia Perez who set the record in 2004.

In her two seasons as an Aztec, Boaz established the career-record for goals against average at 0.74 and ranks fourth all-time with 18 clean sheets.
