KENDRIYA VIDYALAYAS IN

Will the Minister of HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a) the teacher-student ratio in Kendriya Vidyalayas, State-wise; (b) whether the Government has received any requests for opening new Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country and if so, the details thereof during the last three years, State-wise; (c) the details of new Kendriya Vidyalayas sanctioned and functional in Karnataka during the last three years, district-wise; (d) whether it is a fact that several Kendriya Vidyalayas in Karnataka are running without their own buildings and if so, the details thereof; and (e) whether there is any obstacle in construction of their buildings and if so, the details thereof and the time by when the Government proposes to construct permanent buildings for these schools? (a) State/UT-wise position of teacher-student ratio in the Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) is at annexure-I.

(b) Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has informed that, during the last three years viz. 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19 it has received 118 proposals from various state governments for opening of new KVs. The state/UT-wise details is at annexure- II.

(c) The district-wise details of the 7 KVs sanctioned during the last three years in the state of Karnataka are as under:-

The KV Sadalga, Distt. Belagavi has not yet been made functional as the sponsoring authority has to transfer the identified / demarcated land in favour of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and also handover possession of the temporary building before administrative orders for opening of KVs can be issued.

(d) & (e) Out of 51 KVs in the State of Karnataka, there are 11 KVs running without their own buildings. The details of these 11 KVs are as under:-

Buildings under Koppal, Haveri, , Virupapura, Kadimidri & Chennapatna. construction Buildings under Mandya, , Krishnarajapuram, Gauribidanur & Railway planning Yeshwantpur.

Construction of permanent buildings for KVs is a continuous process, which depends upon identification of suitable land, completion of lease formalities in favour of KVS by the sponsoring authorities, submission of drawings / estimates by construction agency, availability of funds and requisite approvals etc. As such, no definite time frame can be given in this regard. ***** ANNEXURE-I
