Dr Chunming Wang (CM) is an Associate Professor at the University of Macau, Macau SAR. He received his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Biochemistry from Nanjing University (), and obtained his PhD in Biomedical from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). He undertook his postdoctoral training at the University of Cambridge (UK), working between Wilhelm Huck’s group at Department of Chemistry and Fiona Watt’s laboratory at the Wellcome Trust Cambridge Stem Cell Centre. Then, he returned to Singapore and assisted Victor Nurcombe and Simon Cool at the Institute of Medical Biology, A*STAR (Singapore). In October 2012, CM took the Assistant Professorship at the University of Macau and received promotion to Associate Professor in 2018.

As Principal Investigator, CM has secured 11 research grants from o Fundo para o Desenvolvimento das Ciências e da Tecnologia (FDCT Macau), National Natural Foundation of China (NSFC), University of Macau Research Committee as well as two State Key Laboratories in China. He has published over 80 papers in internationally recognised journals, including those as (co-)first/corresponding author in Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Science, Biomaterials, Chemical , Trends in Biotechnology, and ACS Nano. His current research focuses on devising biomaterials to modulate innate immune responses for enhanced tissue regeneration, and has built up collaborations with researchers in China (including Hong Kong), Singapore, USA and Europe. He was among the recipients of 2nd (2016) and 3rd prize (2018) of Macau Science and Awards.
