The stakes are high for VfL Wolfsburg and Manchester United FC as they meet on UEFA Champions League matchday six, with both sides bidding to wrap up qualification for the last 16 – and deal the other a knockout blow. • Group B leaders Wolfsburg have never advanced beyond the group stage before but will be through with a draw and will definitely clinch first place with a win. • United, a point behind their hosts in second place, need a win to guarantee qualification. He spent most of his playing time in the second and third divisions but was a Bundesliga regular for one season at Leipzig. • Having started coaching at Verl in 2000, he guided Lübeck to promotion to the 2. Bundesliga in 2002 and the 2003/04 German Cup semi-finals, stepping down after that season ended in relegation.
