The victim realized a handgun was missing, retrieved his shotgun, and brandished the weapon at the suspect. The victim ordered the suspect out of the residence and the suspect fled on a bicycle. Officers arrived and set up a perimeter where the suspect was last seen. With the assistance of an air unit, a search was conducted however the suspect was not located. The victim located his missing firearm at his residence and believed the only loss was a camera.

• On 4/2/2021 at approximately 1:40 am, officers responded to Imperial Hwy at Lakewood Blvd regarding a report of an injury traffic collision. It was determined a vehicle driving westbound Imperial Hwy at a high rate of speed ran a red light at Lakewood Blvd. The solo occupant driver lost control of the vehicle and collided into a tree on the north sidewalk of Imperial Hwy. The driver (an adult male) was pronounced deceased at the scene. The D.A.R.T. (Downey Accident Reconstruction Team) and Forensics responded for investigation.

• Detectives are investigating an assault that occurred on 4/2/2021 at about 8:25 am in the 9100 block of Brookshire Ave. The adult female victim was asleep inside her apartment when the suspect (a relative of the victim), kicked open the front door. The suspect attacked the victim as she laid in bed. He repeatedly struck her in the face and head with a closed fist, causing severe swelling and possible fractures to the left side of her face.
