3rd-5th Grade Boys Week 2: September 26th, 2020 Bengals 28, Colts 21 Bengals Earn Comeback Victory at the Buzzer

The Colts came out early and dominated the game in the first half on Saturday, but the Bengals came back in dramatic fashion to steal a victory. The Colts started off hot, as Benjamin Oviatt scored a 65-yard on the second play of the game, running a great in-route, catching the in stride, and racing all the way to the endzone. After forcing the Bengals to , the Colts continued their hot start with a 80-yard touchdown by Josiah Sparks, who ran a slant route, juked out a defender, and was off to the races. By the end of the first quarter, the Colts held a commanding 14-0 lead. The Bengals were able to find some offensive momentum at the start of the second quarter. After a opening drive catch by Matthew Vittum, Michael Perfetti connected on a deep pass and ran 60-yards to the 10-yard line before getting stopped. Two plays later, Michael was able to capitalize again, as he was found open in the middle of the endzone to give the Bengals their first touchdown of the morning. The Colts led a methodical drive to finish the first half, started with catches from Zachary Terranova and Josiah Sparks, who helped to pick up the first down at the 45-yard line. With under 30 seconds remaining in the half, the Colts looked to extend their lead. The Bengals held tough however, forcing a 4th down on the last play of the quarter. As time expired in the half, Josiah Sparks came up clutch for the Colts, making an incredible leaping catch between two defenders at the 5-yard line, before scampering in un-touched to extend the Colts lead 21-7. The Bengals put together a methodical drive to start the 3rd quarter. After catches from Michael Perfetti, Matthew Vittum, Gavin Gebhardt, and Cal Stonebraker on the drive, the Bengals marched down to the one-yard line and faced a fourth-and-goal. From the one-yard line, Michael Perfetti was found once again in the endzone on a quick comeback route, making the score 21-14 with 2 minutes remaining in the 3rd. The Colts looked to regain their offensive momentum, but Matthew Vittum of the Bengals had other plans. On 2nd down, Vittum smothered a rocket of a pass at midfield to intercept the ball, and returned in down to within the 5 yard line. Before the end of the quarter, the Bengals had some trickery up their sleeve, which led to a Cal Stonebreaker touchdown, who was left wide-open thanks to a trick run from Matthew Vittum. At the end of the 3rd quarter, the score was tied at 21. The Colts and Bengals engaged in a defensive battle in the 4th quarter, exchanging punts as each teach locked down on defense. Not only did each team take away deep passes, but they also did a great job of limiting the yards after catch on short passes. As a result, our game was tied at 21 heading into the final 15 seconds of the 4th quarter. Looking like the game would go to , the Bengals had one last chance to pull off the comeback in regulation. As the buzzer expired, Matthew Vittum caught a quick slant and was off to the races. After looking as though he would get tackled two times, Matt kept his legs churning, was able to slip away from diving defenders, and raced 65-yards to the endzone to score for the Bengals, securing the victory for his team. The Bengals won in dramatic fashion, 28-21.

3rd-5th Grade Boys Flag Football Week 2: September 26th, 2020 Buccaneers 42, Chiefs 35 Bucs Win in Offensive Shoot-out

The Buccaneers got off to a dominant start in their game on Saturday, thanks to a methodical drive that featured nearly every player touching the ball. Right from the jump, Jackson Haacker got a quick slant route for a 25-yard gain, and then Brody Stutz was found open along the to convert the first down. After a quick pass to Jameson Dalke, Dylan Sumi made a nice catch on an in-route, juked past a couple of defenders, and was off to the races for a 40-yard touchdown. The Chiefs answered back with a nice drive of their own, with catches from Jon Masse, Evan Kinney, and Brayden Wilson. However, as they looked to get into the endzone, the ball was tipped at the 4-yard line, and Dylan Sumi used his ball-hawking skills to intercept the deflected ball, and race 96-yards to the house for his first Pick-6 of the season. With under 30 seconds remaining in the first quarter, the Bucs jumped out to an impressive 14-0 lead. Jack Rider wasted no time for the Chiefs however, as he answered with a nifty 55-yard touchdown to cut the lead to 14-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Bucs continued their offensive pressures in the second quarter though, as Jameson Dalke showed his persistence and scored a 60-yard touchdown on the ensuing drive, helping his team retake a 14 point lead. The Bucs held strong on defense the next possession, forcing a punt with under two minutes remaining in the half. Right before the end of the half, the Bucs were able to find the endzone once again, as Brody Stutz scored a 25-yard touchdown after running a wheel-route along the sidelines, extending the lead to 28-7 at the half. Despite the offensive attack from the Bucs, Cian Caffery of the Chiefs was having a huge day in the secondary. Cian made three incredible diving tackles in the opening half, saving a touchdown from scoring on all three. Cian’s effort did not go unnoticed, and helped keep the Chiefs in the game by the time the second half rolled around. On the flip side, Jackson Haacker of the Bucs had an incredible defensive game from the secondary as well. Jackson had two huge tackles at the start of the 3rd quarter to keep the Chiefs from breaking away into the endzone, doing a great job of reacting to the plays and using his speed to help maintain the large lead. The Chiefs scored on fourth down after a 7 minute drive to start the third quarter, as Jack Rider came up clutch once again, connecting with a perfectly placed route, cutting the deficit to 14. However, Dylan Sumi wasted no time to score again after the long Chiefs drive to open the frame, as he made a spectacular leaping catch on a post route in the middle of the field where he jumped higher than his defender to grab the ball, and raced to the endzone for an 80-yard touchdown. This extended the Buccaneers lead to 35-14 heading into the 4th quarter. Despite the deficit, the Chiefs did not quit, as Jack Rider continued to come up clutch for his team by notching two more on the day with huge catches on 4th downs again and again. Brayden Wilson also scored a touchdown with two minutes remaining, however, Jackson Haacker scored the dagger for the Bucs as he raced to an 80-yard touchdown on the first play of the drive, once again providing a comfortable two touchdown lead. The Bucs defeated the Chiefs in an entertaining shoot-out, 42-35

3rd-5th Grade Boys Flag Football Week 2: September 26th, 2020 Ravens 35, Rams 21 Ravens Knock-Off Rams in Week Two Victory

The Ravens got off to a hot start on both sides of the ball Saturday morning, playing suffocating defense and electric offense to jump out to a 14-0 lead. After forcing the Rams into a turnover-on-downs on their opening drive, Connor Shiesley ran an incredible out-and-up route to blow past his defender and race to the endzone for a 45-yard touchdown. The next drive, the Ravens forced the Rams to punt the ball, but on offense, it was like déjà vu as Shiesley ran the same exact route once again on third down and raced 75-yards to the endzone to help his team jump out to a commanding 14-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Rams continued to battle, as they turned the tables and eventually tied the game in the second quarter. After making adjustments to start the frame, Jacob Lawson ran a beautiful dig route into the middle of the field, where he caught the quick pass and raced 80-yards to the endzone for a touchdown. Next, the Rams forced the Ravens to punt on their ensuing drive, looking to tie the game up at 14. Thanks to Cole Frank’s speed and awareness, the Rams were able to do just that, as Cole ran a deep in-route, caught the ball in stride across the middle of the field, juked out a couple of defenders, and was gone for his first touchdown of the season. With a minute remaining in the half, the Ravens used some trick plays to score, as Connor Shiesley received a short pass on third down and outraced all five Rams defenders to regain the lead, 21-14. This was our score at half time. The Ravens dominated for much of the second half, as all of their players started cooking on the offensive end, making their air attack incredibly difficult to stop. On their first play of the third, the Ravens methodically marched down field, as they gained catches from Aaron Battaglia, Crosby Famiglietti, Gavin Steves, and Ray Keidel, before Wesley Stahl was found wide-open in the redzone to score the touchdown. Further into the fourth quarter, the Ravens had another great drive, as Zachary Biermann made a nice catch across mid-field to gain the first down, which set up a great play by Ray Keidel who made an impressive catch in traffic along the sidelines to then scamper into the endzone, extending the Ravens lead to 35-14. The Rams would score one more time, as Charlie Weir and Jacob Lawson made back-to- back catches, which ultimately helped Jacob score a 55 yard touchdown with under a minute remaining in the game. The Ravens dominated this one, 35-21.
