The 2014 matchup was the fi rst time Maine scored a touchdown off 1913 6-0 Maine Orono the Eagles since 1914. • Maine took the fi rst three matchups, winning on home turf, but the Eagles have 1914 27-6 Maine Orono won the last fi ve consecutively, only allowing 13 total points. 1915 14-0 Maine Orono • The Eagles have won the last fi ve matchups by an average score of 38.8-2.6. 1929 42-0 Boston College Chestnut Hill BC-Maine Ties • Boston College assistant coach Kevin Lempa was the defensive backs coach at 1967 56-0 Boston College Chestnut Hill Maine in 1977-80 under then-head coach Jack Bicknell. When Bicknell came to The Heights, Lempa came with him. Lempa is currently in his third stint with the 2006 22-0 Boston College Chestnut Hill Eagles and entering his 17th season overall with the program. 2012 34-3 Boston College Chestnut Hill • Maine head coach Jack Cosgrove played for Bicknell (and Lempa) in Orono, graduating in 1978. He was a graduate assistant for the Black Bears from 1978-80, 2014 40-10 Boston College Chestnut Hill working with Lempa at Maine. They reunited in Chestnut Hill in 1985-86 when Cosgrove was an offensive assistant, working with the quarterbacks and wide receivers. Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College football team defeated Maine, 40-10, on Sept. 20, 2014 at Alumni Stadium. The Eagles started the season 3-1 for the first time since 2009 and recorded over 500 yards of offense for the third time. Quarterback Tyler Murphy, who entered the day leading all quarterbacks in the nation with 401 yards rushing, carried 13 times for 99 yards before he was taken out midway into the final quarter, falling just short of his third 100-yard rushing game this season. He rushed for two touchdowns and threw for one while throwing for 130 more yards on an 11-for-18 afternoon. He has scored at least one rushing and passing touchdown in three of the four games in 2014 and rushed for at least 90 yards in all four. Running back Marcus Outlow led the Eagles, tallied 107 yards and recorded his first career reception - a 28-yard pass from Murphy that set up first-and-goal in the third quarter. Outlow became the first true freshman to rush for over 100 yards since 2008 when Montel Harris racked up 116 in the Eagles’ 28-21 victory over Maryland. All Outlow’s rushing yards came in the fourth quarter. Classmate Jon Hilliman upped his career highs, rushing 21 times for 98 yards and running in for two scores for the second straight game. Not only did the Eagles’ offense pick up 413 rushing yards, tallying over 300 for the third game in 2014, but the BC defense held its opponent to under 20 rushing yards for the second straight game. The Eagles were stingy, allowing just 16 rushing yards to the Black Bears. The Black Bears got on the board first, scoring their first touchdown against the Eagles since 1915. It didn’t take long for BC to retaliate and the Eagles did not look back. After the game was tied at 10 early in the second quarter, the Eagles ran off 30 straight points to take the win. This report focuses on the New York Giants and time permitting I will try to have a report for every team between now and the start of free agency in March. If you would like copies of other reports that are available please either e-mail me or visit the site overthecap.com The Report Contains: Current Roster Overview 2013 Team Performances Compared to NFL Averages Roster Breakdown Charts Salary Cap Outlook Unrestricted and Restricted Free Agents Potential Salary Cap Cuts NFL Draft Selection Costs and Historical Positions Selected Salary Cap Space Extension Candidates Positions of Need and Possible Free Agent Targets Any names listed as potential targets in free agency are my own opinions and do not reflect any “inside information” reflecting plans of various teams. It is simply opinion formed based on player availability and my perception of team needs. Player cost estimates are based on potential comparable players within the market. OTC continues to be the leading independent source of NFL salary cap analysis and we are striving to continue to produce the content and accurate contract data that has made us so popular within the NFL community. The report is free for download and reading, but if you find the report useful and would like to help OTC continue to grow we would appreciate the “purchase” of the report for just $1.00 by clicking the Paypal link below.

  • Giant Heart Super Bowl Champ Mark Herzlich Shares His Inspirational Story and Talks About How Crossfit Helped Him Regain His Strength After Battling Cancer
Giant Heart Super Bowl champ Mark Herzlich shares his inspirational story and talks about how CrossFit helped him regain his strength after battling cancer. Julie Buehler reports. By Julie Buehler March 2012 When I met Mark Herzlich, the world’s media was asking how he got to be where he was. The scene was surreal. It was Super Bowl week in Indianapolis, and Herzlich and his team, the New York Giants, were taking on the New England Patriots for a world championship. Microphones were shoved inches from his mouth, one removed only to be replaced with another. Personal questions rained on him. But he didn’t complain. Things have turned out OK. When Herzlich was introduced to CrossFit, he had recently had a titanium rod implanted in his left femur to strengthen the body’s biggest bone. He had endured months of chemotherapy and radiation, as well as physical therapy to pry what muscle he had left in his body off the bones. You see, the heat of the radiation and the cancer-seeking chemicals burning through his veins did not distinguish which cells to set ablaze, so the muscle had melted to bone. By the time Herzlich—a self-described “workout freak”— was ready for physical activity, he wasn’t the hulking, 6-foot-4, 245-lb. Boston College linebacker who was projected to be a first-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. Jerry Pinkus 1 of 4 Copyright © 2012 CrossFit, Inc. All Rights Reserved. The compilation of the All-America roster was supervised by a panel of analysts working in large part with the historical records contained in the files of the Dr. Baker Football Information Service. The roster consists of only those players who were first-team selections on one or more of the All-America teams that were selected for the national audience and received nationwide circulation. Not included are the thousands of players who received mention on All-America second or third teams, nor the numerous others who were selected by newspapers or agencies with circulations that were not primarily national and with viewpoints, therefore, that were not normally nationwide in scope. The following chart indicates, by year (in left column), which national media and organizations selected All-America teams. The headings at the top of each column refer to the selector (see legend after chart).
