Final Activity Report
I - General Information UNESCO Phnom Penh Office and the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia jointly organized a Capacity Building Workshop on the Implementation of the 2003 Convention at National Level. This very important training workshop has been supported by UNESCO/Japan Funds-in-Trust on Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage, through the Strengthening of National Capacities in Asia and the Pacific, from 13 to 17 August 2012 at Sunway Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Forty-seven national participants attended this important event.

VI - Results
This five day-training workshop, with presentations, explanations of the trainers, trough two field visits of the Khmer Arts at Takhmao and the Silversmith village at Oudong, has deepened knowledge, enriched experiences, conceptualized vision and plan of all trainees for a better implementation of the 2003 Convention on the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in their respective communities or organizations.
The best opportunities for all actors to express and share their real concerns, problems, challenges, experiences in terms of the safeguard of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in their communities.
Trainees got a very rich documentation on the UNESCO 2003 Convention: The Basic text, Operational Directives, form ICH-01, ICH-03, questionnaire for inventorying model in Khmer and other trainers' presentations.
Trainees have been requested to conduct field survey to identify the element, the domain, the concerned community, the bearer of the intangible cultural heritage and they have also been requested to indentify the threats and challenges, especially to set up concrete and relevant measures to safeguard the element.
The network of the actors for the safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Cambodia has been established.
Trainees know how a local association or organization of arts can manage, mobilize resources, run an art institution.
