Launch the app

Tap on the app to begin.

The first time you tap on the app it will prompt you to configure the settings. The setting in this lesson is specific to the Eduphoria server for our district.

To begin, tap once in the Server URL field.

After you tap in the Server URL field a keyboard will appear. You will use this keyboard to enter the URL. You will also need to enter some special characters that are not available in this keyboard configuration. We will switch over to another keyboard layout to access those special characters later.

1. Tap in the Username field and enter you login name. 2. You might need to tap on the shift key to prevent a capital letter in your username. 3. Tap on the Password field and enter your password. 4. Tap on the number key if you need numbers for your password. 5. If you make a typing erro use the back space key to erase.

The application will try to log in to the Eduphoria server after you tap the Done button.

The log in should be successful if you entered all the information correctly. If the application cannot log in, check the information for the Server URL and make sure that the Use SSL option is turned off. Check your username and you might want to re-type your password again.

Select a campus

If you have access to observe more than one campus, select the campus where the teacher is assigned.

Select a teacher from the list you have for observation. If a teacher does not appear on this list, log onto eduphoria's web site and assign this teacher to yourself for observation.

Create a new document

Tap on the plus sign at the bottom left of the screen.

Assignment information

Tap in the assignment field and enter an assignment being observed.

To navigate between domains tap on each of the domain numbers at the bottom. This is the easiest way to get from one domain to the next. You can also use the next and previous buttons that appear at the top. When you are on the first domain the Observation button is available instead of the previous button. You can tap the observation button to return to the assignment setup page and save your observation. Use the script notes button at the bottom to write some notes during your observation.

In this example we will walk through a biology class. I will not allow the teacher to view the walk through for now. It is a good idea not to check this until you are done with a walk through and have had time to check everything in the walk through again.

You will need to scroll down to each evidence set. A walk through is not divided into domains. A walk through does not have buttons for you to navigate from one evidence to the next.

Selecting Teachers

To select a teacher for observation tap on the person silhouette in the upper left.

After you select a teacher his or her name will appear at the top. To add an observation or walk through tap the plus symbol.

Launch Safari

Tap the Safari icon on your iPad.

To Bookmark the page tap the icon immediately to the left of the address bar.

Add To Home Screen

Tap on the Add to Home Screen option.

At this point all you need to do is tap the Add button, but I like to clean up the name. Use the keyboard to remove that stray hyphen after the exclamation point.

Add the Bookmark

Tap the Add button.

The bookmark icon will be added to one of your screens that has an available space. Tap the icon to go to the Eduphoria PDAS page.

Login to Eduphoria

Enter your username and password. Tap the login button.

You now have access to the PDAS menu and the familiar format from the iPod Touch.
