We’ve tried to make things as flexible as possible. The only thing that’s fixed is the time of your department visit. For the rest of the day, you can do things in any order you like.

Your department visit is the chance to learn more about your course, meet our staff and students and find out what it’s like to study here. Your department will send you an itinerary for this part of your day.

The exhibition is open all day so you can drop by before or after your department visit. Here you can find out more about the University and life as a Sheffield student.

Tours of the campus and our accommodation are available all day and run every 15-30 minutes. You can even fit in time to explore our unique city.

8 Meet our students

The best way to understand what life at Sheffield is really like is to talk to our current students. There will be plenty of student ambassadors on hand at our open days to answer any questions you have.

Dressed in orange, they will be in the main foyer of the train station, at the University tram stop and at various places on campus to help you find your way around.

During your department visit you will get the chance to meet and talk to current students in the department. This is a great opportunity to ask them, one to one, about all the things that are important to you, and help you get a better feel for the course.

9 Accommodation tours

In our student accommodation you’ll have free internet, all bills included in the rent and hundreds of friendly neighbours. Today you can take our coach tour and see the rooms, meet the students who live here and find out why we’re number one for accommodation in the UK (Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2014-15).

Living in University accommodation puts you right at the heart of University life. Making friends with students from the UK and other countries across the world will give you an experience you won’t find anywhere else.

Sport Sheffield offers a wide range of fantastic opportunities for having fun and staying healthy.
