Ages 1.5 – 6 (Pre School) With Me (1.5–2.5 year olds) Bring your little one (ages 1.5 – 2.5) to dance class and have fun together while the instructor guides you through dance games and exercises, set to fun music for little children.

Creative Dance (2–3 year olds) Creative movement dance class for 2-3 year olds! Have fun with props, obstacles, creative movement, stretching, and basic dance movements to age appropriate music. Students must be able to go into class without parents.

Tumble & Twirl (2–3 or 3.5 – 5 year olds) A fun acro dance and tumble class for young children! They will learn basic and gymnastic movements, set to upbeat music.

Baby Ballerinas (3-4 year olds) An introduction to ballet for 3-4 year olds! Learn basic positions, work on stretching, good posture, pointing toes, moving on the beat, and fun ballet games.

Hippity Hop (3-4 year olds) Hip Hop class for little children, ages 3-4! A high energy class to fun music.

Princess Ballet (4-5 year olds) Be a ballet princess! Learn gracefulness, good posture, flexibility, and basic ballet combined with stories and creative movement. For 4-5 year old students.

Ballet/Tap (4-6 year olds) This class is designed for beginners (4-6 year olds) who would like to explore both ballet and tap! A fun and energetic class that will have your feet moving! No previous experience required.

Pre Ballet (5-6 year olds) An introduction to the art of ballet! Work on coordination, balance and flexibility, basic ballet positions, steps, and terminology, and fun exercises in creative movement and music exploration, for 5-6 year old students.

Combo Classes Ballet/Jazz/Tap (7-10 year olds) A fun 75 minute combination class for young dancers ages 7-10 who would like to explore different dance genres.

Jazz/Tap 1 and 2 (6-9, or 8-10 year olds) A high energy combination class including both jazz and tap! This fun class will include jazz and tap techniques and styles to a combination of Broadway and pop music.

Acro Acro 1 (7-10 year olds) Learn tumbling and acrobatic movements. Increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, timing, body awareness, self-discipline, and confidence. For beginner students ages 7-10

Acro 2 (10 and up) Learn tumbling and acrobatic movements. Increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, timing, body awareness, self-discipline, and confidence. For students who completed Acro 1, ages 10 and up.

Ballet - Adults Adult Beginner Ballet (16 and up) Ballet for adults with little or some previous experience who prefer a less strenuous class, or for beginners.

Adult Advanced Beginner Ballet (16 and up) Ballet for adults with previous experience.

Ballet – Beginner or Homeschool Beginner Ballet 11+ A beginner ballet class for older beginners (11-15). Ideal for students who are too old to start with much younger children, and not ready for adult class either.

Homeschool Ballet 11+ An intermediate ballet class for home schooled teens (11-15).

Ballet – Pre Professional Ballet Level 1 (6-10 year olds) Ballet Levels 1 through 7 follow the Vaganova syllabus. Level 1 is the first year of formal ballet training, with barre, center, and across the exercises. Students will learn proper alignment, turn-out, posture, basic technique, beginning ballet movements, gracefulness, flexibility, French ballet terminology, and more. Ages 7-10.

Ballet Level 2 (7 – 10 year olds) Ballet Level 2 students expand on what they learned in the previous level, and concentrate on body alignment, muscle awareness and ballet terms/vocabulary, flexibility and strength. Minimum twice weekly. Ages 7 and up with at least one year of previous ballet training.

Ballet Level 3 (8 – 11 year olds) Third level of formal ballet training. Continuing what students learned in Level 2, students will work on correct posture, placement, turnout, strength, use of arms, flexibility, balance, ballet terminology, gracefulness, and more. Minimum twice weekly. Ages 8-11 with at least two years of previous ballet training.

Ballet Level 4 (9-14 year olds) Fourth Level of formal ballet training. Continuing on what students learned in Level 3, students will learn more advanced barre and center work and port de bras. Pre Pointe may be introduced in this level. Minimum three days per week, students should also enroll in contemporary and other additional classes. Ages 9-14 with at least three years of previous ballet training. Minimum three times weekly. Supplemental classes encouraged: Jazz Funk Jr., Contemporary Jr. Acro 2, Musical Theatre.

Ballet Level 5 (11-16 year olds) Ballet Level 5 training becomes more detailed and serious. Classes will include pointe work, pirouettes, epaulement, petit allegro and grand allegro. Ages 11-16 with at least four years of previous training. Minimum 3 times per week, 4 is strongly encouraged. Students are required to take Contemporary (Intermediate), and encouraged to take other supplemental classes: Jazz Funk Jr., Character, Acro, Musical Theatre.

Ballet Level 6 (12-17 year olds) Level 6 is more rigorous. Classes will include pointe work, multiple pirouettes, fouettes, expanded petit and grand allegro. Ages 12-17 with at least five years of previous training. Minimum four days per week, five is recommended. All Level 6 students must also enroll in Contemporary (High Intermediate), and other classes are highly encouraged: Variations Jazz Funk Intermediate, Acro, Musical Theatre.

Ballet Level 7 (14-18 year olds) Ballet Level 7 is the highest level of pre-professional training for students 14 and older. Pointework is included in each class, combinations are more intricate and longer, and the level of difficulty prepares students for college or professional auditions. Students in this level should enroll in Unlimited Classes, and take ballet 5 days per week in addition to all supplemental classes (modern, jazz, pas de deux, and variations.)

Junior Company (Invite Only) This class is by invitation only. Junior Company students should be enrolled in Unlimited Classes, taking Ballet level 7 and all supplemental classes, including Junior Company, which participates in all professional company performances.

Boys Dance (10 +) A dance class specifically for boys only. The class will include ballet and contemporary. Intended for beginners.

Contemporary is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Dancers focus on connecting their mind and body through fluid dance moves. This allows dancers to explore emotions, and use their natural energy to portray personal expression in their dance techniques. • Junior: Ages 9 and up. Suggested for Ballet Level 4 students. • Intermediate: Ages 11 and up. Required for Ballet Level 5 students. • High Intermediate: Ages 12 and up. Required for Ballet Level 6 students. • Advanced: Ages 14 and up. Required for Ballet Level 7 students.

Jazz Funk Jazz Funk, also called Street Jazz, incorporates movements from ballet-modern-hip hop- to lyrical, and wraps it into a funky style that is both fun and expressive! • Junior: Ages 9 and up. Suggested for Ballet Level 4 and Ballet Level 5 students. • Intermediate: Ages 12 and up. Suggested for Ballet Level 6 students. • Advanced: Ages 14 and up. Suggested for Ballet Level 7 students.

Hip Hop A high energy hip hop class to upbeat music for students around their tween years. Learn urban dance styles such as poppin', locking, breaking as well as freestyle movement to give students the opportunity to develop their own sense of style. Our Hip Hop classes teach rhythm, coordination, and without suggestive music or movements.

Musical Theatre This class will teach musical theatre style dancing, acting, and singing. Students ages 9 – 16 will work on scenes from Musicals and will perform a scene at the end of the year in the school recital at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.
