It is expected the return of Daraa province in southwest Syria will be an important support for the country's economy because of its agricultural wealth. During a wide-scale campaign that started in late June in Daraa and nearby rebel- held areas, the Syrian government forces have succeeded in restoring all border points with . The official Syrian flag is again fluttering on the ground zero, a triangle of Syrian territory slicing between Jordan and the Israeli-occupied . This triangle is located in the far western countryside of Daraa, the birthplace of the Syrian war, which was recently recaptured by the Syrian army. "This place is the junction of the Yarmouk Basin and Syria-Israel border. The experienced Syrian government forces smashed the IS militants who fled to the Yarmouk Basin and checked the valley floor to make sure the full liberation of Daraa and the countryside," said a field commander. The land in southwest Syria is considered to be the most fertile land with abundant agricultural resources and vegetables. It used to be controlled by the terrorists, but now with its return, the land is of great importance for the country. "It used to be known for cereal crops. Today, Daraa is moving towards greater changes and is producing olives, olive oil and all kinds of vegetables and fruits," said Kamal Ayyash, a Daraa resident. The country's Nasib border crossing with Jordan will be opened after it was recaptured by the Syrian army from the rebels in July. "Today, the opening of the Nasib border crossing is good for our compatriots in as well as the exports from Syria.
